I have a Nano, and now whenever I connect my Ipod to Itunes, Itunes does not even recognize my Ipod is connected. Also, when I go to My Computer, it also does not recognize that my Ipod is connected.
Any thoughts?

If you're computer isn't even seeing it, you might have duplicated the drive letter associated with your iPod.

To fix it, plug-in your iPod and right-click 'My Computer' and click 'Manage'. This will bring up your Computer Management box. Under 'Storage', select 'Disk Management'. On the lower-right side of the box will appear a list of every disk that's plugged into your computer. Find your iPod, right-click on it and select 'Change Drive Letter'. When the box comes up, select 'Change' and pick any letter that isn't already being used.

Try hooking it up to another computer and using a different connection cable. If it still doesnt' work, at least you know it isn't your computer or a bad cable.

For the record, my wife's Nano has been having the same issues since we upgraded to the latest iTunes software.

While we are on the subject, anyone have guidance into using the pics & contacts features on their iPods? I have scoured iTunes with no success.

SLy...I think you are right...I think it was about the same time that I upgraded to the newest software. I do not think it is the cable, becasue it is still charging while plugged into the USB port

No, because on a Mac they automagically sync up with Address Book and iPhoto. No problems here. 8)

I just fixed a similar problem with my sister's nano last night. When she connected it to her PC, it would show the Apple logo and then immediately reboot and show the Apple logo again. I performed a hard reset of the nano and then left it plugged in for a while. Eventually the battery started charging. I reset it again. After that the computer told me the iPod was corrupted, and it then downloaded and installed the latest firmware for the nano. Problem solved. It worked like a charm after that.

Try this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705

If that doesn't work, check your serial number at http://support.apple.com to see if your iPod is still under warranty. If it is, call Apple and have their tech support folks help you out.

Am I the only one here who doesn't have an ipod? I honestly dont know if I'll ever get one either. I guess I just don't have a need for portable music.

I'm with you on that one...although I may not be for long. My wife and I just bought a hot tub the first of the month that has an ipod docking station.

Still have my 1000 CD and around 500-600 LPS

Yeah, I'm much too picky for any form of radio. I prefer controlling both the selection and the playback. My iPod lives in my car.
