"If somebody has to attack by strapping bombs to his body to protect the honour of the Prophet, then it is justified," Pakistani Religious Affairs Minister Ijaz-ul-Haq told the national assembly.
The minister, the son of military dictator Zia-ul-Haq who died in a plane crash in 1988, later retracted his statement in parliament and said he meant to say that knighting Rushdie could spark terrorism.

Oh, come on, LUC. Who hasn't made a misstatement like that? I was talking to a guy once and I accidentally told him that I was going to tie him down in the middle of my driveway, put a set of snow chains on my tires and then get in my car and back over him slowly. Following that, I would get out of the car and pour a bottle of tabasco sauce into his open wounds.
Of course, what I meant to say was, "Yes, I would like fries with that."
See? Same thing. Right?
