I was there 2 weeks ago and it was up and running early. After I had my fill of other rides I went to get in line for it and it was stuck on one of the inclines. They had it shut down the rest of the day. Probably best I wasn't able to get on it. While it does look pretty cool. The initial drop is pretty tame when you get right up to it. The stopping gimmick is what makes the ride.

WOW! Busch Sells Beer? I wouldn't know. It is usually those who may struggle with such spirits who seem to be offended. Sweet Tea and H20 for me. I have no clue who makes beer. How dare you sir!

Busch makes handy snack packs that, under the right circumstances, CAN ALSO BE MADE INTO BEER!!!! WAAAAAAAAHH!
BTW, Knuckle, if I'm ever forced to take a job where I have to play tour guide on a rollercoaster, I want you to come to my house and kill me. Shoot me, feed me a poison funnel cake, I don't care. I will have obviously given up on life anyway.

Roller Coaster Riders Left Hanging
Power Outage Strands 12 Upside Down On The X-Coaster At Magic Springs
(AP) A dozen riders on an Arkansas roller coaster spent half an hour hanging upside down — 150 feet above the ground — after a power outage shut down the attraction.
It took about 30 minutes for the city Fire Department to rescue the riders using a ladder truck Saturday evening, said Aundrea Crary, spokeswoman for the Springs & Crystal Falls amusement park.
Entergy Corp. was investigating but crews found no faulty wiring.
"The cause could be a (tree) limb or as simple as an animal (on the lines)," said Mark Hunt, general manager of customer service for Entergy. "We could find no faults, but we are going to continue to investigate until we find the cause."
Or the fact that it's Arkansas.
OK, that was unnecessary.

that's terrible. I used to work at 6 Flags New England and a similar thing happened on the Superman. It's my biggest fear of a Roller Coaster. That's why I'm glad I wasn't in line for the Griffon that day I was there.

I rode Hypersonic at Kings Dominion and the train didn't make it over top of the hill and it rolled back down...made for an interesting ride.

I Finally got to ride the Griffon yesterday from the front seat, and I loved it. You HAVE to ride in the front. They hang you over the 210' 90 degree hill for 5 seconds before dropping. It is the closest to freefall I've ever been. Only complaint, it's way to short.

I rode it two weeks ago. I was pretty freaked out as the ride was starting (I was in the front row), but by the time the drop leveled off I had regained my composure enough to smile and give the thumbs-up to the camera that's taking your photo. When I looked for the photo post-ride, the people there said that they wouldn't display it -- because some other idiot made an "obscene gesture".
