One thing I used to like, but it wasn't exactly a sketch, was Jack Handy's "Deep Thoughts."

Example: "I hope if dogs ever take over the world, and they chose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas."

A couple more gems:

What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

We tend to scoff at the beliefs of the ancients. But we can't scoff at them personally, to their faces, and this is what annoys me.

Buckwheat assassinated (or anything with Eddie Murphy in his prime like Gumby)

Eggheads (OK they were much funnier back then than when I see them now)

I'm beginning to think that Old Hag status can be conferred based on what era of SNL you prefer.

I wouldn't argue that a bit. And I'm not saying there hasn't been quality bits in recent years, I was just sharing some of my favorites that you guys might not be aware of.

That was pretty obvious and I'm surprised no one mentioned here as well.

But any Farley references would bring up Belushi memories.

Coneheads is what I was thinking about. I'm an Old Hag so forgive the lousy memory.

Belushi as the bee with an attitude was awesome.

Anything with Alec Baldwin. I still have the best of Alec and the best of Christopher Walken...Put you ______ in a box with Justin Timberlake and Andy Sandburg was pretty funny this past Christmas. Colonel Angus sketch (double entandra) with Walken. Eddie Murphy Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood, James Brown Celebrity Hot Tub and Gumby sketches. Piscopo doing Sinatra althought Phil Hartman did it better. I have watched SNL every year since 1976. I actually think this season has some real talent. Christen Wiig, Andy Sandburg and Jason Sudeikis are all really funny but not a lot of people know them.

I love Will Forte and Bill Hader right now but I doubt that SNL is going to take them very far.

"Land Shark"

Bill Murray (the lounge singer) doing the words to Star Wars
*edit: thanks SCAR

agree with whomever mentioned the Celebrity Jeopardy episodes (w/ "Sean Connery" insulting Trebek's mother)

nearly forgot Ace and Gary, the Ambiguously Gay Duo.
