I think we all agree that Target is great from an earlier thread. My wife went in there to exchange a bunch of baby clothes that was given to us, for a different size (they were too small), and they informed us that you're only allowed 2 exchanges per year. :banghead What kind of a rule is that? It doesnt make any sense. Things like this always happen with trying to return something there. Why do they suck at this so much? If anybody has ever been on their gift registry, you know what I'm talking about. After I got married we tried to exchange a picture frame, where somebody had gotten the wrong one. We were informed that this didn't come from Target, and I was like, I just saw it in there! I'm sure that particular person was just an idiot, but it's one of many examples in the long line of Target being completely unreasonable at returns/exchanges. Manson help me out here.

Dude I don't know what your problem is. I've worked guest service before, it has been 2 years now. My wife used to be the manager up there as well. As long as you have a receipt it is fine. If you don't have a receipt and they have to look it up by your DL number, that's when you are only allowed a certain amount each year. I'm not sure the exact number, I can check with my wife as she still works there.

I've never had any problem returning anything though.

Also, if it came off your registry, they can do a fake gift receipt if you don't have one, by looking up your registry.

But thats the problem. When I buy something, I normally dont need to return it because I bought it. But when somebody else buys it they are normally wrong. And yes it would be nice if people included gift receipts, but they dont.

also, yes walmart will take anything back. If I found a used bar of soap I think they would take it back as long as they sell that kind.

Target has the worst exchange/return policies in all of retail. They're rather notorious for it on the Interweb.

Heaven help you if you ever have a wedding/baby gift registry there. Bad gift givers will not give you receipts and then you're screwed. They were never willing to help us with anything.

If you have a registry it should be no problem. You can use your registry as the "gift receipt". Just save one for your records, or go ahead and print one off, and tell them that it was purchased off the registry.

Also, as far as only being able to do 2 returns a year, I think that is more like 6 per year. And they base that off of your DL#, so you can do 6 off yours, your wife can do 6 off hers, etc.

I ran into this same problem

my fiance bought a carrier for our dog so we could take him with us to Texas this summer. Well, we ordered one offline, they said it would be delivered in 3-5 days. A week later they said they would have to process the order, where it would take 12-14 days, then it would be shipped in 3-5 days. About two days later I received an e-mail saying they no longer carried this particular carrier, I canceled the order after that and they still have yet to refund my money....bunch of bums
