Patrick Henry College wins accreditation from Christian group

PURCELLVILLE, Va. -- Patrick Henry College, formed seven years ago as an elite evangelical college for home-schoolers, is now a fully accredited institution.

The Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools voted Tuesday to award the northern Virginia college accreditation. The federally recognized association also has provided accreditation for Jerry Falwell's Liberty University in Lynchburg and for Bob Jones University, among others.

I have read a little about this school. They are doing some good things at Patrick Henry. That is a positive step for them to become accredited so soon.

I believe they are trying to get SACS accreditation just like us. But even just the TRACS credentials will help their degrees & credits transfer or make them eligible for many post-grad programs.

This college gets many home schooled students to enroll there.

A great step in the right direction.
