Which one does everyone like the best? Keep in mind I'm more sports game oriented. I'll finally have some free time again and the Contra post has gotten me wanting to play again.

You can buy a Wii and a 360 for the price of the PS3. So, I don't really consider it a contender.

I own a Wii. It's really fun and a great party system. Wii Sports, Tiger Woods Golf and Madden 07 are all really fun with the unique controllers. Not to mention all of the downloadable old-school games and all of the Gamecube games + controllers. I also like Excite Truck, Wario Ware, in addition to the previously mentioned sports games. Not a huge fan of Zelda. It bores me. However, the graphics are not going to blow anyone away.

The 360 is not only a graphics beast, it's a really nice media center too. If you've got an HDTV, the HD-DVD add-on drive is a steal and the downloadable HD TV shows and movies are pretty sweet too. The 360 Elite should be coming out soon. It will have a bigger hard drive, but for the price, I don't think it's worth it.

360 with Xbox Live. There's nothing better. I'm a loser with no friends so I have to play on Live.

If Sony charged for online access after someone actually paid for a PS3 and a few games, I'm pretty sure people would be infuriated.

I mean, did you really expect them to be able to work rumble packs into the controllers for $599? Some people are just never satisfied!

I won an Xbox 360 when mountain dew was doing their "every 10 minutes" promotion back in the Fall of 2005. I LOVE this system. The online stuff is great, and microsoft seems to be committed to pouring money into this system. My brother and I bought my nephew a 360 for Christmas when they had deals going for $299 (premium system).

I'm sure the PS3 has more bells and whistles, but 360 is a way better deal IMO. The Wii is fun, but it definitely is more geared toward little kids, while the 360 has some good kids games and adult games as well.

Nintendo always makes sure they have the market locked up for kids games, but that's not all it's about at all. Nintendo's focus for the Wii was to make games fun to play, not just the same old thing. They've succeeded, IMHO. That's why you still can't find them on the shelves anywhere, but you can walk to any game store and pick up a PS3. It may not have Gears of War, but wait until you see Sadness and Resident Evil. They're going to be a blast, and definitely not for kids.

That's lame and uncalled for. Not to mention factually inaccurate. They found no (not one, zero, zilch, nada) video games in his room or on his computer. Dude wasn't a gamer. You sound like you've seen one too many Jack Thompson interviews.

I said Sadness and Resident Evil wouldn't be for kids. They won't be because they're dark and scary and rated MA for mature. ;)

Jack Thompson is a hack attorney from Florida who claims video games are the cause of every school shooting and massacre in recent American history. He thinks video games should be illegal, and we're not just talking first person shooters. He claims to be a conservative Christian (of course), but in reality he's just a nut with no credibility whatsoever. The Florida Bar Association is currently seeking sanctions against him for inappropriate conduct. He's dirty, shady and a liar. He'll be disbarred soon. Anyone with half a brain would quit having any association with this guy. If you see him being interview on TV as an expert, you can be sure that whatever show you're watching is likely a decroded piece of crap.

I have no doubt they will have adult games, but overall the system is geared toward kids. That cannot be said of the 360 or the PS3. I've got several kids in my high school and middle school that own a Wii and a 360. As much fun as the Wii is, most say if they had to give up one they would give up the Wii. I'm sure the fact that the Wii is new and has much fewer games than the 360 has much to do with it, but my nephew and nieces would trade their 360's and probably more for a Wii (we bought one for our kids department at church and hooked it up to projector). My high schoolers would trade everything they have for Halo 3.

Nintendo by far puts out the best games. It is just that I believe most gamers are attracted to more adult themed games and Nintendo is not going to have very many of those. That is why the gamecube sold less than the xbox and PS2. Regardless, it still made a TON of money because it produced many of the best games over the past 3-4 years. Most of those games are kid themed games, which for some reason turns off many older aged adolescents and adults. I personally LOVED playing the game cube. Especially the mario games.

I had a GC. It was okay, but the games weren't there. The Nintendo-made games were good, but the rest just didn't happen. The reason they didn't happen is because the Gamecube was third in sales from day one. This time around, the Wii is solidly crushing the PS3 in sales. It's been the #1 selling console each month since it was released. Now the 360 obviously has a large lead over it in overall sales, but it's been out for a lot longer, too. I think that developers go where they stand to make the most money. If the Wii keeps selling like it has, there will be plenty of games of all types available for it. EA has already stated that they're moving to the Wii as the primary focus for all of their sports-related games.

I'm not knocking the 360 at all. It really is a great system. It's a graphics powerhouse, it has the best HD support out of any of the systems (despite the lack of an HDMI port) and it makes for a really great media center. It's also somewhat reasonably priced, compared to the PS3 anyway. I just think that dollar for dollar, the Wii is the best buy in the bunch. I still stand by my claim that if you have the cash for a PS3 you should just get both a 360 and a Wii instead. The PS3 is really the only dog in the bunch, simply because it's too expensive. $599 for a system and then $50/60 games on top of it? You could get a Wii and a 360 for $549 and still have some cash left over for a game. I just don't get the PS3. Apparently I'm not the only one, either. Sony hasn't been able to get the things off of shelves.

IMO what will hurt the Wii is the fact they cannot get their systems on the shelves. Having only sold a little less than two million units (from the last sales report I saw) if PS3 gets serious, they could easily overtake the Wii. With both 360 and PS3 releasing new versions of their systems, they could make a surge. This next Christmas will tell who is going to most likely win the console battle for this particular batch of systems. The competition usually doesn't get heated until the systems are readily available with a large batch of games. I think once people start seeing the PS3 and Xbox 360 begin to flex their graphic muscles, they will leave the Wii behind. IMO Nintendo should be throwing everything on the shelves as soon as possible before Xbox releases Halo 3 and PS3 releases a similar "must have" game (GTA type games that Wii won't have).

IMO a year from now, Nintendo will be in third place again. Although they will have a much larger share of the market than the gamecube had. I say this also because the Xbox 360 and PS3 will have copied the Wii controls by then and most the novelty will have worn off.

March 2007 Platform Sales Numbers:

1. Nintendo DS - 508,000 units
2. Playstation 2 - 280,000 units
3. Nintendo Wii - 259,000 units
4. Xbox 360 - 199,000 units

The Playstation 2 is still the all-time best selling console in the U.S. with 38 million units sold.

That's impressive.. the PS2 is by far the best gaming system. Coming out with the small version was absolutely brilliant by Sony. Appearently, they didn't learn with the PS3.
