Car accident. I believe he fell asleep driving back to Lynchburg from a trip. I had him for NT.

The son's name was Sam. He was a Religion DLP professor and died in Nelson County, leaving behind a wife and 2 or 3 children. He had just bought a new vehicle in Maryland and was driving it home, but fell asleep at the wheel, is my understanding. There was talk of building a golf driving range on campus as a memorial to him.

Sam, that's right. I had him for New Testament, and skipped that class as often as possible. It was the previous semester before his death. In retrospect, I feel bad about that.
