Oh man it's hot

For some reason, my A/C isn't working. Brand new pump and everything. I've got it on, and it's be cut on for something like 6-7 hours, and it's still 80 degrees in my house. I tried sleeping but it's just too hot so I came on here to whine and complain. Looks like I'm calling the HVAC guy tomorrow.

No air conditioning is worth complaining about. It's only 63 outside, though. Open a window?

Guess the man upstairs heard you...
...supposed to be 53 on Thursday.

go buy a fan. I'm too cheap to turn on the A/C and a fan does fine.

I've got two fans and a ceiling fan. It's not just that it's hot, it just kept getting hotter. I had the windows open last night and all of the fans on and it's still reading 82. The unit outside is on but none of the air is coming through. I don't know what the deal is.

Sounds like you live in a small metal box. I saw it on the A-Team once. Hanibal was trying to save a village of slaves/mexican immagrants and he was forced into the box. The rest of the team built an assault vehicle and threw hubcaps with dynomite taped to them like frisbees at the bad guys. AK-47s were fired and in the end nobody died, but the workers and Hanibal were set free. So what I'm saying is, you need some dynomite.

I've done everything from turn everything off, turn just the fan on, turn the A/C on. I'm trying to figure it out without having to spend a bunch of money from the A/C guy.

Parents own the house, we rent from them. Just found out it's still under warranty so I'm calling the HVAC guy.

SuperJon...you will get no sympathy from me...
...the AC in our little part of the North Campus world is broke and may not be fixed by the end of the semester.

I was actually hoping someone on here would know what to do and would tell me without asking for it. Plus I couldn't sleep.

Buy a box fan. To increase airflow, open the windows in the house and place the fan in the window blowing OUT (like in a kitchen window)...and cool air will be sucked into the house.

I've got the HVAC guy coming later today. Right now it's not bad in my room because of the fans.

arctic air is in WV right now headed this way. Say hello to 20-30 temps at night and 50s during the day. I hope your heater works too.

That's one of the things that worries me. With the A/C not working, I'm not sure if the heat is going to work either. I was gone over a week and I think the heat/air was cut off that entire week because it was 60-70 degree weather.

Chances are, you just need it "recharged"...or adding freon, or whatever they use now. It should not effect your heat at all.

That's what I'm hoping.

Wow, I miss that show. It was a weekly television staple in my home growing up. Every week, the M-16's would fire, dynamite would blow up, and yet there was never any human casualty, missing limbs or even blood. Nice conversion van, too!

"I love it when a plan comes together"

Some part somewhere was broken. They're fixing it.
