I am taking a mission trip to Cuba in mid to late June (possibly July). I have previously visited the country 6 times. If someone has interest in going, please let me know. The purpose of the trip is evangelism and discipleship. The team will consists of a small group of 4-6 people. One day will be spent in Havana (sightseeing, etc.) and then we will travel to Central Cuba.
When I took my first trip, it was a huge step. I did not consider myself the typical missionary type. If this is where you are coming from, I understand. It changed my life and I think it could change yours. Do you want to come? I dare you.

I had no idea that visiting Cuba -- much less taking a mission trip there -- was legal.

I know a preacher from Fl who travel to Cuba as part of a missionary organization working with the underground church. I think he passes out Bibles, hush hush kind of way. If caught they would put him on a plane back to the USA.

Traveling to Cuba without an organization with the proper State Department license is illegal. However, it is is possible to legally travel for a mission trip. The Cuban government is GENERALLY accommodating to us. However, they make the process difficult and expensive, but not impossible.

You can fly to Mexico City and then over to Cuba without a hassle.

Frankly I'd love to take a trip like that ... but this year is out of the question with our latest arrival.
I cannot wait for that Stalinesque dictatorship to fall. That country is going to white unto harvest once the free flow of ideas is allowed. Ditto to China.

And North Korea...although that may take along time to reverse the indoctrination there...

Both Cuba & China have fairly strong underground churches from back before the Communist regimes outlawed their existence. As a result the seed has been planted and the people are receptive.

If I wanted to go to Cuba, I'd apply for Iraqi citizenship.

I get it.....you were trying to be funny. Actually, I posted the original message because I was seriously looking for someone that would like to take a step away from their normal routine and experience something incredible.

I've wanted to visit Cuba ever since I saw Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. Seriously though, I think it sounds like a cool trip, and if I had the time and money I might consider it. I hope you have a great time and make a difference in some lives while you're there.
