These students get 3 credits for trip to Final Four

ATLANTA -- Some students might skip classes this week to attend college basketball's Final Four, though at least a dozen have managed to score class credits out of the trip.

The trip cost $3,250 per student. The total covered the cost of the class, a hotel room for six nights, food, roundtrip airline tickets, two rental minivans, a Georgia Tech baseball game and Thrashers hockey game, along with the Final Four and championship games at the Georgia Dome.

The students are sports management majors at Lynn University in South Florida. As part of a course titled "The Final Four Experience," they will be traveling with a couple of professors to Atlanta to get a firsthand look at what goes into the major sporting event.

And get this, each student gets three credits for the excursion.

Sports Management, what a great major. As one of the first classes of graduates from Liberty, I thought it was great that I was able to receive internship credit for working at Kanakuk Kamps. (www.kanakuk.com). But three credit hours for visiting the Final Four, that sounds like a winner to me.

can you take trips with credit for a sport managment minor? b/c i still have a chance to sign up for a minor, and i wouldn't mind going to some games for credit

I got to plan it out...it was sweet...I lined up meetings with about 10 people in different organizations....and one of the days they had the option to either come with me and watch my buddy play or go to the beach...well only a few came with us and he ended up taking us down to the locker room and giving us all kinds of gear from hats to shirts etc. They were so mad when we got back, but I tried to tell them before we went that will prob happen.
