Armed Mexicans Attack Unarmed National Guard Troops On US Soil
By Jim Kouri
Jan 8, 2007

In a story that should have rang alarm bells in very newsroom across the nation, armed Mexican entered the United States and attacked unarmed National Guard troops working at a border patrol post near the US-Mexican border. The troops had to retreat to safety.

Not surprisingly, the news story received scant coverage by the mainstream news media and hardly a mention on the Fox News Channel. It's a story that should outrage all Americans including President George W. Bush.

Unfortunately, President Bush and his Administration did not even comment on this vicious attack on unarmed US troops, as well as the unbridled assault on American sovereignty. During a press conference held on Friday afternoon by Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, there was not one word about this unprovoked attack on soldiers.

According to syndicated columnist and journalist Sher Zieve, the attack was initiated by several Mexican nations at about 1:00 AM (et) Thursday morning at one of the National Guard entrance identification team posts near Sasabe. The troops retreated to safety. According to KVOA TV News reports in Tucson, AZ, no shots were fired and no one suffered injuries.

The US Border Patrol is conducting an investigation into the attack. Investigators are attempting to determine who the armed men were, what they were doing and why they approached the post before returning to Mexico.

A Border Patrol agent, who requested anonymity, says that the well-armed intruders were drug traffickers who are fully aware US National Guard troops are prohibited from carrying any type of weapon and have been ordered not to confront lawbreakers coming across the border. The Guard troops are not allowed to apprehend illegal entrants, as well.

This is just the most major of things that make me wonder how Mexico can get away with doing these types of things. It's not like they're Russia who claims one thing while doing another. They don't even try to hide the fact that they try to help people invade into our country. I really think that this is more than just a problem that a wall will fix. I think this a problem that only a few bullets will fix.

What the words out of the Liberty Way are they doing there if they can't have weapons or confront lawbreakers?

yeah i saw this yesterday i think and was wondering why it wasn't getting more press....I am one that thinks homeland security begins here and not in other countries...I think that if secured our borders and made every effort to not let illigals in this country then this country would be a lot more secure...I am not saying it is always wrong to go abroad and break up terrorist circles, but i think its starts at home, and i think that it has been forgotten...I don't know how much of a threat this whole mexican thing is, but if they can do it what is stopping terrorists from doing it as well?? Its a slippery slope and this great president of ours is doing nothing about it....

Can they really be described as 'troops' if they're not carrying any weapons? Even Boy Scouts at least carry knives!

Exactly how many Mexican nations initiated this attack?

That was an incredibly poorly written story to start the thread. Where did you find that article, LUconn? It had to be some blog of little merit.

First off, the Mexican government had ZERO to do with this "attack". It apparently is some "coyotes" who were trying to smuggle illegals across the border. Should we be concerned with this? Of course but it isn't the international incident the writer of that article is making it out to be. Let's tighten up security on the border and use this as an example of how brazen these "coyotes" have become.

They have an interesting disclaimer at the bottom of the page (which does not allow you to select anything or right-click for some reason). My favorite part is this:
The Post Chronicle (TM) accepts no responsibility for the accuracy or inaccuracies of any story or opinion.
I'm guessing it's not an actual newspaper.
