Teacher Says "Butt Out" of His Art

RICHMOND, Virginia (AP) - December 13, 2006 - High school art teacher Stephen Murmer wants school officials to butt out of his artwork.

He says he's been suspended by Chesterfield County, Virginia, school officials because of his unusual style. Outside of class, Murmer bills himself as the "butt-printing artist." He plasters his bare backside and other private parts with paint and presses them against canvas. His abstract art and flora designs sell for hundreds of dollars each. Murmer has contacted the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia for help. The ACLU says Murmer has the constitutional right as a private citizen to paint however he chooses. The school district won't comment on the suspension because it's a personnel issue.

I don't know if any of you listen to Lex and Terry, but they were talking about this yesterday, and they determined that everybody in the studio was going to make a "painting" this way today, sign it, and put it on ebay for charity. They were having quite a good time with this.

He should freaking sue them for suspending him. Everyone else is suing everybody, let him in on the action.

If he did Christian art with his backside, he could get Liberty Counsel to file the suit.
