The biggest weakness Trump had in his first term (and I was pleased to see him acknowledge this) was his personnel selections and appointments. Because of his unfamiliarity with DC he had some terrible picks for cabinet positions and some of the more important personnel selections in his first term. He relied too much on the status-quo neocon types (Lindsay Graham, Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, etc.) for his choices. Most of those people were not there to implement his true agenda imho and were instead put in place by the party elite and donors to serve as guardrails and keep Trump from truly pursuing his policy agenda. Obviously, tax cuts and some of those things were achieved, but budgetary reforms and other items like the border wall were never really achieved in full.

John Ratcliffe would be a nice choice for attorney general. He's on the sideline now, therfore no need to raid the senate. If a Supreme Court opening comes along, Mike Lee will probably be high on the list.

I think this will be the biggest difference between Trump 1.0 and 2.0. He will have people working with him as opposed to against him. Add to that a more disciplined approach and I’m excited to see what can be accomplished
Of course if he wants to throw the book at people like Gen Milley I’d be ok with that too

Let’s talk Cabinet. Apparently there’s a solid number of folks that want to come back to work for the Administration. Pompey is wanting back. He will end up somewhere. Probably Sec Def or CIA
Devoss back at Ed. Which I’m not fond of but if they are eliminating the Department I’m fine with it.
My favorite would be Ben Carson back at HUD. By all accounts he did a wonderful job.
Obviously Kennedy and Tulsi will be somewhere. I’d like to see Tulsi as Sec Def or VA Affairs
Kennedy at FDA would just be wild.
AG will be the biggest slot. Not sure who I’d want there.

Trump also put a lot of train wrecks in last time. Hopefully he will not make as many of those mistakes this time

I would be shocked if Devoss came back. I think it will be someone different there.
It is sounding like Mike Lee will have a shot as AG possibly.
There's already some rumblings of Thomas(retire), Roberts(retire), and Sotomayer (health) stepping down as Justices at some point in the near future.

Seems unlikely but if trump were to replace Sotomayor I think the meltdowns would be even worse. Liberals would never have a majority in the highest court in their lifetime. That might be true already.

I’m fine with not having DeVoss back

Alito is older than Roberts (74 v 69). Soto is ‘only’ 70.
I think Thomas and Alito definitely retire and possibly Soto
Crazy to think how Pivotal Trumps presidencies will be

At this point I'm pretty sure Sonia will pull a RBG as long a Trump is in office. The only way she will step down is via the grim reaper.

I would love to see Mike Lee either as AG or on the Supreme Court.

If Trump really wants to make dem heads explode, he could pick Mike Davis as AG. 8)

The power of catturd. :rofl

Not a a joke. His influence on the X platform should not be ignored. He sent out the word and his followers made "No Pompeo" the # one trend in less than 24 hours. A day later we see this. I honestly don't believe it's a coincidence.

During the initiation phase of some of the Trump investigations being carried out by the Biden DOJ, Pompeo was on the airwaves openly supporting them and being hostile towards Trump, so this is no surprise to me. I'm not sure why Nikki Haley thought she'd ever have a spot, but this is a signal to the establishment/neocon types that this time will be different.

The UN at this point is totally useless. Lisa is much more valuable in the house. Trump should troll the UN by appointing a comedian as our ambassador. My first choice would be Tony Hinchcliff, but Tyler Fischer would be great too.

Homan is a home run.

Intriguing option.
I think he should offer it to Kayleigh McEnany, but My guess is she'll turn it down.
Second choice Scott Jennings, who has been an absolute beast going one on 5 on CNN panels.

Not sure what it is she did/said, but clearly Kari has rubbed some people the wrong way in Arizona (including Republicans) to consistently run well behind Trump, but I think she is a real talent and has a ton of experience in media.

I too would love Kayleigh to come back. She was by far the most prepared press secretary I've ever seen. From day 1 she looked and sounded like she belonged behind that podium and she had some savage takedowns. If not her, I could maybe see Trump looking to Meghan Kelly - if he could get her to leave her podcast. I also think Vivek could be an interesting choice, though he might view that position as being beneath him.

Regarding Kari, her issue in AZ is that she went to war her first go around with the McCain types going as far as to say she didn't want their vote. Apparently, they remembered that. She has a ton of talent and is a sharp communicator, but she got in her own way imho. I'm sorry, but there's only one person that can get away with saying ridiculous things and that's Trump. She should have been a bit more humble and tried to bridge the gap between the moderate/McCain types.

He isn't qualified to be the secretary but I would love to see them credential Shawn Farrish and send him up to the platform just once to run a presser doing his Trump impression.
