Here's a thread for mockups of gear you would like to see offered by LU.

Also, since it is no secret that LU hopes to channel success a la Notre Dame, here's an excercise in comparable branding efforts:

Notre Dame:

1. Varsity Letter

2. Official Logo

3. Alternate

4. Updated Official

Couldn't a future possible LU marketing avenue be:

1. Varisty Letter Logo
2. Current Logo
Image
3. Alternate (perhaps a torch, a singular related icon, maybe in a talon [Napoleon anyone?]--as the clover leaf is to the leprechaun)
Image
4. Updated Classic (perhaps a contemporary take on the charging bird)

I don't think you'll see the name parting from the logo any time soon. There's a lot of branding work yet to be done and making people wonder what the logo is for is not quite as effective as just telling them.

Having said that, you can get the folks at Universal T's to put the logo on anything you want. So if you want this stuff with that logo, they can do it.

Could they have not made Sparky look like the bird that's on everything for continuity sake?

Twice now, while grocery shopping in Jersey (long story- but its close to my house) I've run across a college-age looking kid wearing a blue hat with this logo on it.

the back, over the adjustment band, says "LIBERTY" in small caps. Nice looking hat, distinctive- you notice it halfway down the cereal aisle. At least I did. Twice now. Still haven't introduced myself. 8)
