I have no idea if true or not, but social media is lit up today. Some are saying the VA governor is flying on a private plane to Manteo NC to vacation in his OBX home. Is that legal right now? Do any of you guys know?

I heard during the gun protest in Richmond, he was "hiding" in North Carolina.
Hopefully Facebook and Twitter will be flooded with this story.

It’s not illegal to travel. I’ve been to NC a couple of times.

Dare county is dealing with a number of law suits by out of town property owners that can't get to their homes.

I hope it was essential travel.

Curious, did you know its against the law for anyone other than permanent residents to enter Dare County beaches, which includes Roanoke Island?

If you’re talking about the NC ban I’m not sure “against the law” is entirely accurate in this case. He owns the place and doesn’t rent so that would be a loophole If that didn’t work I’m sure a call from one Governor
To another took care of that

I tried to find something that said it was illegal and I couldn't find it. Is it a good look? Probably not but such is life with politicians.

Don't think we can be too critical of a leader who has a penchant for being in situations that look bad, but who knows... and he could have a pool... Nevermind.

Dare county has had police check points to stop out of town home owners from violating closer for 4 weeks. Looks like all the social media activity has resulted in a quick announcement

Yeah. Gov Northam has certainly not shown well during this at all. I don’t doubt he’s taking weekends or whatever to go to his place in the OBX. Which shows you that maybe things aren’t as dire as he and his UVA model would have us believe

I find it hard to believe the NYTimes hasn't sent a reporter and photographer down to cover this. I'll post a link from Mother Jones or Salon as soon as they run it. We'll probably never know the truth, he'll deny it I'm sure.

I miss the old days when BJ would skip Convo, hide behind the bushes near the Hancock building, and try his best to bring us breaking news.

The NYTimes has picked up his slack.

The reports I'm seeing is that this was #FakeNews.

Shouldn't be hard to prove one way or another.

You wouldn't think so. If it's true I figure he lays low and hopes it goes away. Wouldn't be wise to publicly deny it and then have someone prove it. That would be double trouble.

Governors staff says it's false. I don't think he's personally said anything. I wonder who was driving those Virginia lic plates. OBX locals have been going crazy when NY plates are spotted on the road there. Crazy times we are living in. Im watching msnbc this morning, morning joe, they seem to want the country closed for another year.

It is always interesting how quickly people believe things as it relates to their party affiliation.

I don't know if this is true or not but there is probably a good reason that even fox news isn't running with it.

I guess it really dosen't amount to much in the big picture. We have bigger problems to worry about right now.

Can't watch anymore MSNBC this morning, crazy.

You are behind the times with Fox News. I know a couple of people who work/ed for them. Outside of their nightly line up and behind the scenes they are very much Liberal. OAN is the “New Fox”

I have a couple friends there now and I know it is more liberal than it use to be but It is still right of center in their philosophy. I am well aware of how the tides have changed a bit in the world of Fox News but that has more to do with personal vendettas than of political affiliations. OAN is a joke of a network with laughable production quality. I'd put more stock in Breitbart than OAN. But that is just me.
