Which is really a great alliteration for socialism as a whole. A mentality of communal “taking” in an attempt to make sure everybody has the same. Scary to think that that’s the way an entire generation wants our country to go

Joe Biden will not be the Democrat nominee for President. He has basically disappeared during this crisis. When he has emerged he’s looked anything but strong effective or reassuring. People who are looking for a Trump alternative are not finding it in Biden. With the Democrats convention most likely being virtual and the excuse to be able to use a lot of Emergency and extraordinary procedures they could easily Nominate someone else. If they were really ruthless they would stage a public event with him, waving to First Responders, Soup Kitchen etc. and then report that he suddenly came down with COVID symptoms and will be unable to continue as a candidate for the nomination

That’s my conspiracy theory. I’m sticking with it. :D
I have thought the same thing for the last 30-45 days. However, I don't see anyone in the dim-o-crap party able to give Trump a real challenge, barring a major October Surprise. Of course it is going to get down and dirty and the left has much more experience at that and vote harvesting.
It might be best for the DNC to just take this one on the chin and look for someone fresh for 2024. The Republicans had to do the same after they foolishly nominated, Dole, Cain and Romney. Similar to Biden, in that all of them were/are well past their prime, when nominated.

Why can’t this board be better than the bolded? This is a weak and tired attempt at humor that does nothing to move any semblance of dialogue forward.

If Newsome gains any significant political traction as a result of what has happened with the virus in California, it will be a tragic example of tunnel vision on the part of the public, fueled by a fawning media. Pretty much everything else he has touched has been a disaster.

President Newsome was trending on Twitter the other day. I doubt he'll do anything this year, but if he gets California through this and doesn't have a Jindal-esque fall, he'll be running in 2024.

As mentioned earlier, the Democrats would be better off just going with Biden and getting their act together for 2024. Trying to replace Biden with one of these flash and the pan Democrats isn't going to be a good look for them and would have long term effects.

I think the only way they can get away with it is if Biden had some kind of "health scare" and couldn't move forward.

Nothing would surprise me these days.

He's been on board with Trump lately. Democrats don't have any common sense any more. May be he offers them a little hope.

That’s kinda where I’m at. I am sort of surprised he hasn’t caught the virus yet.

yeah the DNC is in such shambles that messing with this could be disastrous moving forward.

In news that won't shock anybody, former President Obama officially endorsed Biden today. There was a lot of talk about how he should've or could've endorsed Joe earlier but that isn't what former presidents typically do. They wait until their party has their nominee.

Here is the video. Which is classic Obama. Some will love it and some will hate it

I report, you decide :D

It was also an open secret he was pushing hard for Mayor Pete behind the scenes. But you are right. No need to come out and support anyone until the Party selects a nominee

biden doesn't need obama supporters he already has them. obama created the bernie movement with his awful foreign policies and corporate bailouts. in the end they still have to watch the guy need a teleprompter to have a conversation with bernie or any interviewer. obama can't make every speech for the guy.

bernie's top campaign workers crapped all over him in politico. you can't blame bernie, and you can't really blame biden. they are old and seemingly tired. this is what you want to do for the rest of your days? no way. take the L move on.

I've never been find of Obama, but last night I watched him with Seinfeld on the Cars and Coffee show and then you post this and I see it this morning. OK...I like him now. And I'm voting for Biden now.

On a more serious note, the Democrat I find most interesting is Cuomo; his dialogues with Trump remind me of old Capitol Hill battles.

I don't agree with a lot of Obama's politics but he is a likable guy. There are a ton if likeable people I disagree with. It is odd how that has become such an awful thing in today's political climate.

I don't know about that. The folks I know that vote on that side of the aisle aren't big Biden fans and definitely aren't as enthusiastic about him as they were for Obama. They are very different candidates.

The big question is if their lack of enthusiasm causes them to either stay home, vote third party candidate, or vote for Trump.

He might be able to generate more excitement with the right running mate but he'll never get support the way Obama did.

Any good rando third party candidates yet? That's probably the direction I'll be going.

In one way I’m surprised there’s been no 3rd party candidate that has emerged on the Left. On the other, as quickly as candidates bailed on the Primaries it makes me think there was something in the works. Now with The Virus I wonder if those plans have been rearranged. If I’m considering a 3rd Party run I have to ask myself if there’s going to be enough time between post lock down and the election. Trump is vacuuming up all the air space. The Virus is playing out on the ultra low end of expectations. Trumps people are every bit as motivated as 2016 and Biden doesn’t really fire up anyone. Something strange is going to happen or else Biden is gonna get rolled

I'm pretty picky about where I cast my vote.
Trump is Trump, I like what his puttet master is selling. New trade deals that bring manufacturing supply chains home. His middle east policy, the judges he's appointing and his religious freedom stand. To name a few. The other candidates are the exact opposite.

IMO the best thing that should come out of this is manufacturing moving back to the States. As mentioned earlier, my company is getting the process moving in opening a manufacturing plant here possibly another one. And not doing so in Chy-Nya.
He’s not as strong fiscally as I would like, but he’s better than the alternatives.

I will add, I'm tired of hearing corporations and Trump saying we're moving out of China for Vietnam. Just another communist country we have not business getting overly involved with. India I can deal with. But I prefer advanced manufacturing back to the Americas. EU needs to choose, continue to deal with China and eventually answer to China. Or come with us.
