We all have strong opinions but I have friends currently in Iraq and am feeling a ton of emotions right now. Praying for my fellow brothers and sisters and hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

Still anxiously waiting on reports if there are casualties. The mullahs of Iran better be praying to their fake god and prophet that there were no US casualties. If there were, we truly have no choice but to have an overwhelming response. If not, a strike to the base that fired the rockets will be enough of a warning. Pray for peace and the safety of our troops. I truly believe this was a grave miscalculation by Iran.

Yes, let us hope cooler heads prevail. Praying there are no casualties.

This feels like the kid on the playground who stood up and tried to get a punch in even though they’re massively overwhelmed. The bases were on high alert and expecting this so hopefully the only damage is to buildings.

I remember the night Desert Shield became Desert Storm. I’ve visited the neighborhood of what your feeling right now.
Like Chris, I’m waiting to hear about any casualties and so far it seems like one contractor who was killed.
Right now it appears to be a face saving move by the Mullahs. Iran is as close now if not closer to a home grown regime change since 09. From what I’ve gathered IF there is a US retaliation it’s going to be on refineries and ports.
My concern is here in America. Lots of Trump landmarks around with lots of innocent people

I was at Disney World the day after the US airstrike and was slightly nervous about an attack in the back of my mind. What Iranians often do is to use loosely affiliated proxies to carry out attacks. I worry that soft US targets could be in play for retaliation by Iran.

The thing is though, we took out the guy who coordinated and paid for all of those types of attacks. And a top lieutenant. In an organization like that, they don’t exactly groom replacement, they kill them before they become rivals. So if we see anything it likely is a true believer and I’m not sure how many of those there are

This is a good thread to run down the situation

I read through that one earlier.
From everything I’m seeing/reading, it seems like the general consensus is that, unless we retaliate to this, tonight may have been Iran shooting their shot.

It is looking more that way.

Let's just fly some B2s over Tehran, open the doors to say hello, and go home. Let them know they're alive because of Mercy, not because of inability. We have enough stealth aircraft and tech to have a full escort and command and control without ever putting an awacs in the air.

No American casualties.
Minimal damages to the bases.
"Iran appears to be standing down which is a good thing for all parties concerned and a good thing for the world. No American or Iraqi lives were lost." - President Trump

Let’s lob some missiles, but we’ll call you and give a heads up first so no casualties. We don’t want to go to war with the greatest force on earth.

They had to do something to appease their people but didn’t want to start something they couldn’t finish.
I have been critical of many things Trump, but I think he got this one right. I don’t know if it was great prowess or he stumbled into it and got the right results, but whatever the case, it worked.

Is anyone paying attention to Canada’s investigation of the “plane crash?” I wonder what that may mean, if anything, about any future engagements.

Well, Iran shot it down so I’d say nothing

How do you think Canada responds? A strongly worded letter?

I mean it was obviously an accident as the officer misidentified it but what a terrible mistake to make and speaks volumes.

The initial cover story is what bothers me. I guess also shooting down a civilian plane.
