Bond, James Bond

Since I couldn't make Borat on time I hit the new Bond flick

As someone who thought Pierce Brosnon was the epitome of the Bond character, and Dalton was the WORST I was a tad skeptical. I must say that seeing what they wanted to accomplish with Casino Royale there was no way PB could have reprised the role. Gone is the campiness factor and in its place is a more dark sinister character who is OUTSTANDING> Sure he is blonde, but you get over that early. It is as though they are "re-launching" the franchise a.la Batman Superman and much to my supriise it succeeded. I didn't like the OBVIOUS plot twists, but the other more subtle ones were great. The innuendo and jokes were actually better because Craig's bond is so much darker you aren't expecting it. Great one about scratching a certain area of his body. Plus the GREAT names - Vesper (I bet you were given Hell b/c of that name) and Fukutu the asian martial artist. A new felix and a really NASTY M.
And a whole sentence needs to be dedicated to the car. Aston Martin. Vanquish. I need a moment............................ I had to look in the Bible to make sure I had not sinned watching that sweet ride with its gorgeous sound, enticing lines, only to see it .............No I can't I just can't believe it is true.]
All in all, outstanding. And I was a skeptic!!

im with you haize on this one, a very good movie, but the best bond pound for pound is sean connery. and of course never a shortage of nice looking women.

The previews and reviews make this a must-see for this Bond fan. I have seen them all and am partial to the Roger Moore and Pierce B. Bonds. Both had the dry wit down pat, but I am looking forward to seeing the darker side of 007. Eva Green  will be the icing on the cake.

SMOOTHIE is correct- Sean Connery WAS, IS and EVER SHALL BE the REAL Bond.

Brosnan- a distant second.

The current guy (who I've dubbed "Woodsman" or "Outdoorsey" Bond) is NOT doing it for me. I have yet to see the flick, so I guess I'll give him a shot to make me a believer.

PA When i first saw the "New Bond' I told MRs Purple it was a sad day and I would no longer patronize the franchise. BUT when I heard a lot of good reviews and even some skeptics like me say good things I gave it a shot. He is a "different" Bond, not quite as "campy" as the others. I REALLY enjoyed it. Is it the "Best Bond Ever" as the clips claim?? I don't know about that but it IS awfully good.
As for Connery, I think it is just a "first one on the scene" deal with him. I have thought for a long time, since Remington Steele days, that Pierce would be the IDEAL Bond, and I must say I wasn't disappointed with his run. He had a hard time "getting his fingers dirty" but he was suave, mysterious, cheeky and born for the role. Did I mention I HATED Timothy Dalton?? ALthough they did have Wayne Newton in one of the films. Moore was OK and did star in my favorite Bond ever For Your Eyes Only, love the "Bond Girl" b/c she looked like a college G/F of mine, plus the theme song brings back "Inspiration Point" memories!! And who could forget Tevia errrr I mean Topol??

BUT THis is a new Bond (Did I mention the GREAT CAR) and I would say as a Bond Addict, give it a chance I think you will like it.

I really want to see this. I sort of wish I'd passed up Borat for it, but Borat was begging to be seen.

OK, I guess we have to go with the "LIST":

1. Pierce Brosnan
2. Connery
3. Moore
4. Lazenby (or however you spell his name)
5. My friend Flicka
6. Ethel Merman
7. Timothy Dalton

Still to soon to put Craig on the list. But I am now a believer. I read an article in one of my offices today (who knew there were actual current magazines in those offices) Broccoli made a great point. She said, that there was really nothing else they could do with Bond. They had taken it as far as it would go in that vein. They would have loved to do one more with Brosnan but felt that with them finally getting the Casino Royale rights they needed to reinvent Bond, which they did. I have to agree. This new film opens up a whole new horizon for Bond. Which will increase the longevity of the franchise, which, bottom line is what we all want!!

Obviously from down there you can't get a good view of the correct order. At least you have the right people. Next time you put on your KISS elevator boots you will see I have the correct order!! :D

Yeah....I'm late to this party, too. My wife and I watched it a couple of nights ago and Craig was AMAZING as the new Bond. As a fan of all the Bonds but Dalton and Lazenby, I really like the edginess Craig brings to the character. If he has staying power with the franchise, then he could very well move up near the top of the "Bond men".

He's the toughest Bond guy by far. Try the torture scene for yourselves and see if you can laugh and ask for more. (the Boys are getting nervous just thinking about it)
