Many of you may already know about MoviePass, but in case you don't... It is like Netflix for movies at the theatre. You pay $9.95/mo for up to one "2D" showing every single day. If it sounds too good to be true... it is. They will go out of business, but until they do sign up!

Here is how it works:

1. Sign up online and provide your payment info
2. Within a couple weeks, a MasterCard Debit Card is mailed to you with your name.
3. Download the MoviePass App
4. Drive to the movie theater and "check in" to your showing.
5a. Use your theatre "loyalty card" (if applicable)
5b. Purchase a ticket using the debit card
6. Enjoy your movie.

Movie Pass is great if you go to at least two movies a month. It may not be good for those who expect it to get in to see Solo:A Star Wars Film on opening night... although, by using your loyalty rewards program, you may be able to get that ticket in advance.

For those of you in Lynchburg, it works at both Regal and Venue cinemas.

2 of my brothers have this and love it. I only go the movies twice a year at most but I really wish this had been around prior to having kids when we were going once a week at one point.

What will be interesting to find out is if the value of your personal data is worth the price they are paying the theaters for the tickets.

I could have used this 10+ years ago.

I don't care if they know which movies I attend, so that is a non-starter. There are other data mining things I have more troubles with.

Do you know how it works with AMC Stubs program? There’s a BigD theater I go to but don’t watch 3D or IMAX.
I go to a movie about every week

Ok. Did some investimagation I think I’m going to sign up next week. I will get snowed out this week and in meetings next so I’ll just waste money. I can still get points for my popcorn bucket refills and drink purchases. Here’s a pretty helpful article

It takes at least 1-2 weeks to enroll, so don’t wait!

I've been trying to get subscriptions for my parents but it's darn near impossible without me being the account-holder. The website is so bare-bones and customer service nearly non-existent, I haven't had the greatest experience with them so far. You also can't use this for your kids, which is crazy.

Still a great deal, but the execution needs some work. If I was single or didn't have children, this would be a no-brainer.
