I want to do a check here form people that live on campus. I heard today from another LU alumni that there have been some changes with the RD and Residence Life Offices? Is this True? I don;t want to spread a rumor, but I would like a "fact check"

i think they changed some things with the prayer leaders, like who they meet with and stuff like that, but that is the only changes I have heard about...nothing with RA's or residence life in general...

basically they made it so that PL's and SLD's are under the same office as RD's and RA's...no change in duties for anyone, just a new roof for everyone

I happen to work in both of these offices that were effected.
Residence Life used to cover two offices, Housing and Student Leadership (RA, RD). In Falwell's efforts to maintain the integrity of the campus' Spiritual Life, the two offices are now split to the Office of Student Housing and the Office of Student Leadership.
Dean Bunts has moved from Student Leadership to Housing and Dwayne Carson is now the director of Student Leadership. Not a huge change for this season but could be in the future for rule changes, etc. It's possible some of the changes that were made in the past could be retracted as these decisions now begin with Dwayne.

what kinds of things would change? i hope it's not dress code, because i know myself and alot of other students would leave. i don't think that will help with athletics or bringing in more students. are they going to change curfew?

The idea isn't to bring in athletes, Chris, but to train those to go in their respective career paths and present God's love.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing that dress code reflects that because I don't. The decisions made by those at the top aren't based with athletic recruiting in mind, IMO.

Dress code better not get more strict. I don't want to have to transfer again.

Everyone in the administration knows to get the numbers Jerry wants (and that's what matters) the dress code and curfew will have to be dropped. The moral issues can stay, but those will have to go.

I don't think LU can drop curfew. I can't figure out in my head how they'd make that work.

Explain.

If curfew goes away, room checks go away. If room checks go away, they can't enforce the on-campus living rule (other than to say someone does, in fact, pay to live on campus). If people don't have to live on campus, then none of the other rules can be enforced because they'll have no way of knowing what's going on.
Did I explain that well enough? I'm distracted at the moment.

Yea but you'd still have hall meeting and convo. I just think they'll get rid of curfew sooner or later.

hall meeting is the biggest waste of time. all they do is announce everything from convo.
