I have to say i had high expectations for this movie going in, with a cast of famous actors ( Damon, Wahlberg, Dicaprio, Nicholson, Sheen etc ) and i didn't walk away disappointed. I thought leanardo might be a stretch with the boston accent ( and the fact that he will go down in history with the gayest line ever from Titanic) and he hasn't exactly been remarkable in any recent movie i can remember. The language may be a bit excessive for some but the story line was excellent and the casting of each part seemed spot on. This movie immediatly moves into my top 5 of all time and will be added to my collection once it hits DVD. Anyone else seen this? I know it may not win best picture with " Flags of our Fathers" also out, but i think its going to be a close vote.
For a review from consumers i find the best site to be -

I thought this looked great and it has been getting the reviews that agree ever since. I'm excited for it to get old so I can watch it. Leo was good in Catch Me if You Can and The Aviator.

I thought it was a great movie. I also think the lagnuage was a bit excessive but working with real cops I realize that it may actually be somewhat realistic. I thought the acting was good and the plot was even better. One of the best I have seen in a long time.

Funny, I mentioned the language to someone and he said "Didn't notice, too much violence!!"
GREAT movie excellent plot lines/twists. In the words of those famous movie reviewers from In Living Color "I give it two snaps and a twist!"

Anybody seen "Flag of our Fathers"? I'm a sucker for WWII flicks.

I'd have to have the source on that. I've heard nothing but great things about it. Some people don't like the color effect that was used though.

The trailer looked outstanding. But sometimes that can be very decieving (i.e. Pearl Harbor).

Well Harbor had Affleck - puke....i like Ryan Phillipe and some of the other actors in this one. Heck Clint Eastwoods 21 year old Son even has a part. However i dont see how it can be so different from " Saving private Ryan" and " a thin red line " to make it that much better than the departed which was an original film that had pretty much everything i could ask for.

Purple one, Thanks for inviting me to see this movie man! You know we do the macho flicks together! If Mrs Purple went with you then you are forgiven.

Had I seen it at "our special place" then I would have called. HOWEVER, since I was in Cum-Freakin-Maryland then I didn't think you could get away!! The popcorn was awful, you had to put your own butter on it, and there were two teenagers (related?) playing "happy hands" with each other. PLUS, since you always stand me up I never know when you are in Richmond. I will give ya a holler next time I am free up there. Pretty busy.
BTW, Cirque Du Soleil is having a show at the Seigel Center the last Tues of Nov. Mrs P and i are going. You and Her Scarness should get tickets. Best seats are only 33 bucks!!!!!
