And we're supposed to take JimBob as authoritative here, right? Just a little bit of a stretch on your part, and whoever put that piece together. HA! WE GOT THEM!! CHRISTIANS ARE ALL HYPOCRITICAL PERVERTS!!!! SEE?!!!
Not all, just the Duggars are the hypocrites. Plus, for those that are satisfied with the way he handled the situation, I don't see why they wouldn't take him at his word that he talked to further-right-than-most other conservative Christian friends who said it was common.

I don't know what I think of the Duggar's and this whole mess in general... however, the "platform" that Duggar had when running for office, which appears to have been AFTER this incident, would <appear> to make him a hypocrite.

The bold is the money word here. "appear". Now in the eyes of some (ATrain for instance), they are hypocrites. But to some, (bballfan and maybe a few others on here, myself included) they aren't hypocrites. Sinners? sure Fallen? absolutely (we all are that one though)...

Yeah, Josh Dugger is the big get right now by the left-wing media. But there are 32 million registered members and D.C. is their biggest market. The tables will be turned on some familiar "progressive" politicians and journalists soon enough.

Of course, we already know what "60 Minutes" Steve Kroft's favorite colors are and that Hollywood producer Brian Singer likes swimming pools filled with dozens of teenage boys and that CNN's Richard Quest likes to tie rope to certain parts of his anatomy for fun. I don't want to even imagine who Media Matters For America's fruitcake David Brock has been meeting.

The Left's argument is always that the big sin is hypocrisy. Christian social activists are not allowed to ever be as messed up as human beings as they are. But isn't it interesting that the "Don't judge me!" crowd is usually the first to judge and find the biggest stones to throw.

The reality is, Christian or non-Christian, they are all hypocrites and the standards by which they condemn one another are hypocritically applied. The media coverage coming Josh Dugger's way the next several days will further evidence my point.

That said, Josh Dugger is a first-class idiot and I wish I could tell him that to his face. He knows better and yet he thought God's rules don't apply to him. Wrong....oh, so wrong. (A-Train, cue the Proverbs 6 quotation.....)

26 For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread,
And an adulteress hunts for the precious life.

27 Can a man take fire in his bosom
And his clothes not be burned?

28 Or can a man walk on hot coals
And his feet not be scorched?

29 So is the one who goes in to his neighbor’s wife;
Whoever touches her will not go unpunished.
.................................................................................

32 The one who commits adultery with a woman is lacking sense;
He who would destroy himself does it.

33 Wounds and disgrace he will find,
And his reproach will not be blotted out.

I am glad the Ashley Madison hack happened. The CEO sounded like a sociopath as he promoted how innocuous his website was. He doesn't control what people decide to do with the information retrieved from his website service. Besides, people are already having affairs. He's just making it safer and more convenient. Aw, what a caring guy.

Oops.....Time to update the company slogan, "Life is short. Have an affair." How about one with a business theme?: "Life is short. Start a gutter business. Get hacked and get sued out of existence for failing to protect members privacy." Sounds like a winner to me.

Without knowing many details about Richard Quest, if its between him and his wife or him and his husband, who cares what they do to have intimate fun with each other as long as its safe, sane and consensual.

As for the left v. the right, Josh Duggar and the Duggar clan actively put themselves on a pedestal as examples of morality while advocating against marriage equality and anti-discrimination laws for the LGBTQP community. No one of the left really does that, at least as far as sex is concerned.

As for Ashley Madison, while hacking is a crime and laws should be obeyed, the adulterers are not victims. Once you're on the internet, you have no privacy and I DO NOT feel sorry for them. They made their choices, time to live with the consequences.

I'm just so glad that show was cancelled and these idiots are being brought to light. This is one of the weirdest families in the country and quite frankly, an embarrassment to most home-schoolers.

In light of this new news, I have only two thoughts:

1) My heart is saddened to hear that he made a clearly sinful and incorrect life decision to cheat on the woman who is a beautiful gift of God to him as a wife and mother to his now 4 children. He will have to deal with whatever consequences come about as a result of this revelation, and if it means the loss of his wife and children, then that is the price he must pay. God will no doubt forgive him for what he has done, but Anna and the kids will still have to deal with whatever further issues come about as a result.

2) My heart is also angered at people, Christian and non, who can even look at themselves in the mirror and be even a little happy that this was found out. I can offer a little understanding to the non-Christians because they are doing exactly what they are expected to do...not be Christian about it. Those of us who are Christ followers, as he is, should be praying for him. That isn't to say that we shouldn't offer righteous indignation at this OR the molestation issue that spawned this thread, but never is it acceptable to rejoice in even a small way at the sin of another. All of us from Jerry Jr down to SuperJon to ATrain to anyone else alive on this earth, myself included, are capable of doing the same thing that he did...why? Because we are human. Because we are human we have a sinful, fallen nature. What separates us though is surrendering to the power of Christ and his guidance to act in a way that brings honor and glory to himself, not sadness. I know I have made my share of mistakes in my 33 years on this earth. I haven't done what Josh did, but I still have made mistakes, and paid a price for them. I also have been extended a measure of God's grace that at the end of the day I know I did not deserve...but that is what grace is: unmerited favor. So while I am saddened, and angry at what he did, I'm not going to back the bus back over him. I will continue to pray for him, as I hope the rest of you will...and seek God for an extra measure of his power and guidance so that I will not make the same mistake that he has, but if I ever do, the humility and strength to own up to it immediately.

Stop justifying blatant sin, Beej. He chose, for years, to speak out against immorality while at the same time being the exact person he was speaking out against. Yes he deserves grace and forgiveness like all of us, but when you live a public life speaking out about Jesus, you're held to a higher standard.

I agree wholeheartedly with that Jon. I'm saying that all of us are capable of the same thing. Now not all of us acted on it as unfortunately he did, while leading a double life, but at the same time we can't put ourselves on some high horse and say "I would never do that". What he did was wrong on both accounts, that cannot be disputed, and he will face the consequences for them, whether in this life or in the one to come. This sort of thing drives me to not only pray for him, but to be ever vigilant in my own life with regard to this as well.

Ok maybe this way is better:

What he did was wrong. That is 100% without question. If I was in his circle of friends (I pray he has one), and I found out about this, I would confront him about it, as according to Matthew 18, and then proceed as is prescribed in that passage.

Since I am not in his circle obviously, I understand, as I said before, the righteous indignation at what he did, which is justly deserved. I still think that he needs prayer, but that does not change the fact that he did a very terrible thing and will/should pay the price for that.

I'm not happy that they're hurting. I'm just happy that those who have idolized the Duggars for the past 7 years are now seeing what this family truly is. For most people, I think the alarms went up when people realized this family uses their children as marketing products.

I'm sorry but this family has done horrible, horrible things. They are in with the Gothards, who have created curriculum that teaches parents to essentially abuse their children. I don't wish hell for them, but I do think that their actions should be brought to light.

Also, could it happen to anybody? I don't know, that argument is a complete red herring. The Duggars started a TV show, showcasing their morality. I didn't start a TV show showcasing my morality. If you're going to get on TV and boast about how you're holier than everyone else, yeah, you absolutely deserved to be called out when you're seen doing the opposite of what you preach.

And lastly, what would be so wrong with wishing that they fall? Why would I want their actions to have positive results? It's awful what they've done. Sure, going through anything like this would be difficult but at least there is the possibility that it will ignite change.

I'll be praying for them, but not just merely for their grief to go away. I want them to feel it, they need to change.

the outside world needs to know that the Christian community is not ok with this.

I know a good number of families with similar lifestyles. many of their boys had porn addictions. They couldn’t figure out why. I bet many of us probably had our issues in adolesence and adulthood as well.

We installed a product that stealthily tracks all internet activity in a very strict denomination's college campus here in the midwest. No identifiers only
IP addresses. They had no filter installed because they figured it unnecessary! It was only the president and the IT guy who knew this happened. It was installed strictly to help rid faculty of time wasting on the internet. They called a day later and paid for it by credit card. They then asked how to erase the content and then removed it from their network. well this product runs cloud backups. We erased it but certainly not before our techs looked at it. porn porn porn porn porn. yeah. in a college of probably 100 students there were at least 40 unique ip's accessing porn.

it certainly can happen to anyone. that is correct. but this doucher put himself front and center and is being correctly lambasted for it. I AM hypocritically upset that this one turd has possibly undone YEARS of work and witnessing someone somewhere has put into another individual.

Okay, first let me say that this guy is an idiot who has NO CLUE how to analyze data. I would guess that almost none of these emails belong to LU faculty.

However, it is interesting, and sad. LU's gigantic online population probably has a lot to do with the high number.
