So last night was Sebastian Bach. I can’t say Skid Row cause of legal issues so he’s just The Voice Of Skid Row
It was kind of a sad night. Phase 2 is closing in November so this is probably the last concert I will see there. That building has been a staple of Lynchburg for decades
As for the show, man. You talk about a lost soul. His voice was solid and strong the first couple of songs then faded but you can’t expect his voice to be as solid as it was 30 years ago. To his credit he didn’t use any voice over or auto tune etc. He really gave the crowd a lot of energy. Got people engaged and you could tell he really appreciated the fans.
But he also could have been so much more. When you hit the top of your profession on your first try at a young age...it stunts your view of life. Their songs were huge back in the day but you can image all the stories about him being a diva being spot on true. I know the drummer for Skid Row still cusses every time he hears his name. In the background they ran loops of pics from the 80’s and early 90’s with other (more) famous artists. You can tell that he wanted that time back. That he knows that was something special.
I enjoyed the show but not sure I would have driven much further than Phase 2 to see it though

It’s up for sale. That’s all I know. I’m sure a bunch of idiots will wear out the “Piggly Wiggly” and “Cheesecake Factory “ jokes though. Someone might give it a go as a concert / night Club venue but that’s going to be tough with the two Downtown (the second would be a direct competitor). It’s Lynchburg so it will probably sit derelict for awhile, LU will swoop in and buy it on the cheap, Trey will have his management company oversee it, an article will be written about nepotism and it will end up being a warehouse of some type or LUO call center/boiler room

What about a nightclub with a gay-friendly hostel on one end?

I’m trying to talk Mrs Purple into seeing them in DC again as part of our Anniversary/Christmas extravaganza. Last year was so much fun. Nice dinner. Fun concert. We may even go dressed as Mr and Mrs Clause!

Probably not for that one. But you have. Solid chance of seeing me at the Ozzy show in June

Amber is pumped for tomorrow. We are going to see Pentatonix Christmas at the Hershey Giant center.
I am actually excited for this as well.

On a personal note I am unable to hear Journey next fall in Hershey as there is a home game.
Hershey Stadium is 20 minutes from our house and when I say hear we know to spots to get within 500 yards to hear and if early enough see for free.
That being said I have a friend who works for Hershey Entertainment and I will be seeing Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poision, and Joan Jett (up close and very personal) I CAN NOT WAIT! I have seen all of theses before but not with all access privilages.

She (my friend) grew up in this area and when she was younger followed Poison heavily. She became friends with the band members and has remained friends. She always has an invite for them. This time I will escort her husband .... I am pumped.

I saw Crue on their Farewell tour. There was talk about Stryper opening instead of a Joan Jett. That would have been great! I don’t think dates will work out to see that show. I’m not a poison fan and have Sen DL before MC 3 times as well. Be sure to get there early and catch Joan Jett. She puts on a solid show with a ton of energy. You will enjoy it

Thanks PH.
last time I saw Crue they opened for OZZY bark at the moon. Crue just tore up the stage.
Confession, I am a bit of a hair bander and am excited for Poision. Never saw Poision.
DL was with Gary Moore and Krokus; then monsters of Rock in Germany in 86 with Scorpions, OZZY, Motor Head, Warlock, and Bad News.
Thanks for the heads up on JJ.

Since this is def facto my thread we need to take a moment to recognize the passing of greatness. He was a guy who was the best at what he did, deconstructed himself and came back better. The tragedy he overcame in his life is also heartbreaking. He was a member of one of my Top 5 Favorite bands and I find myself now fortunate to have seen their last two tours
RIP Neil Peart. Feel free to post videos of his greatness
