Have been gone for a while but haven't seen anything here or the Lu site about Jerry Edwards. Jerry has retired. He is one of my all time LU/TRBC favorites. Running and building WRVL would have been a terrific legacy but he was also the Voice of the Flames . Getting up at O dark thirty for his on the air segment weekdays couldn't have been easy. Think of all of the road games he did for football and basketball. He didn't get to fly or ride the bus to most of them - he had to drive. This is not glamour . This was pure service by an anointed servant. Jerry also hosted the (then) weekly Flames Club luncheons . Jerry was always upbeat and wanted the best for everyone. I hope he writes a book. I'll always smirk when I remember the account of Mark Reed throwing the ball into the stands.... Thank You Lord for giving us Jerry Edwards.

Couldn't agree more. What a wonderful man and servant of God. LOVE him!
(The thread title made me fear he had died!)

Ditto!
He's been brought up several times as well.

Yeah, can we change this thread title? My gut sank thinking he had died.
One of my favorite times working at Liberty was the interview me and Nick did with him when he was retiring. The stories that man can tell go on for days.

Met Jerry Edwards on a couple of occasions...he is someone I would have loved to shadow on a football gameday and follow his preparation for a broadcast

His son-in-law is the pastor of my church. Jerry came to speak a couple of months ago. It was great hearing his voice again. I enjoyed closing my eyes and going back to the days of hearing, "Stacey Nobles on the carry for 2 yards."

Isn't that what this whole thread has been about?

Yeah...took a few weeks for it to make the website though.
