This will have a major financial impact on Rubber Mallet's area. I can remember the boon it created when I was living up there when the McRib first rolled out.

For the record, the past few McRibs that I have consumed have been smaller & smaller each time I have bought them. Booo!

Most of their products have gotten smaller but these things were pure financial gold for the restaurant! Plus they had the best bun of any quick service sandwich ever

I don't get it. McRib was initially a permanent menu item. Then they decided to make it a limited-time thing that they're roll out every one or two years ("McRib is back!"). Were they going to make it "permanent" again?

Also, Burger King is trying their own version. Stupid BK, they can't seem to do anything right.

I have never understood the appeal of the McRib is grosses me out even thinking about it, but so does most of McDonald's menu minus their fries. I could eat their fries every single day. Glad there is no longer one close enough to stop at during lunch where I work in DC

Sly, I'm wondering how the McRibb goes over in the bbq-rich state of Texas.

Like when JFK was shot, I still remember where I was when I ate my first McRibb: at the McDonalds just off of 24th Street in Chattanooga, when I was in college.

I can't imagine that their Mighty WIngs have been as successful as the McRib would be on a national scale. I'm a wing person, but I'm NOT going to spend the money on McDonalds' wings when I can get more for less from a LOT of places.

My first McRib was while I was in high school in the Early '80s at the Mickey D's in front of Quincy Mall about an hour or so south of Mallet.

As for its popularity here in Texas, we typically don't eat much pork in our barbecue. The occasional ribs or pulled pork is more of a novelty for our state that is in love with beef. As a result, the McRib is probably similar in popularity here as the rest of America.

Thanks to the power of suggestion on Flame Fans, I finished giving my last 2 final exams today to end of fall semester and celebrated by getting a McRib and washing it down with a Rita's Ice.
