Our Sprint contract finally expired today so I'm looking to make the switch to Verizon. We've had iPhones for a while (currently 4s) and have been pretty happy, but we're considering making a switch to Android. I'm intrigued by the battery life of the Droid Maxx, but I've been reading about some issues with the headphone connection not working. The others we're considering are the HTC One and the iPhone 5s. Do you guys have any thoughts or suggestions outside of these phones? We want something that has better battery life than the 4s.

Also, is there anything coming down the pipeline that we should just wait for instead of buying now? We've been very unhappy with Sprint so that's not an option. We had AT&T a few years ago and weren't happy with them either, but I've heard they've improved. Also considering T-Mobile. Basically I'm looking for the best non-Sprint phone I can get for $200 or less on a 2 year contract.

My son has the Droid Maxx and loves it. But I prefer the Samsung models. The S5 looks like it will be awesome and I may actually bite on it at launch even though I will have to buy it outright to keep my grandfathered unlimited plan.

The HTC One is awesome allegedly set to be upgraded soon. Can't speak to its battery life.

Anything in the Galaxy family (S3, S4, Stratosphere 2 like the wife and I have, etc) is a good option if you dont pull the trigger on the new S5
