Noting that you said "favorite" and "bands", so this isn't a list of the best or greatest and exludes individual artists:

1. Oasis
2. Delirious
3. Chevelle
4. Beach Boys
5. there are like 4 or 5 bands I can't decide on (RATM, STP, MxPx, Delta Spirit, Eisley, The Myriad...)

What's funny is, these are my favorite all-time, but not necessarily what I listen to the most right now. Whenever I welcome in new music, I have to push some of the older stuff to the side. Time sucks.
I'm not listing songs because that would take FOREVER.

I went to High School with those guys. I went to see them in concert one time in Clearwater, FL and Mike recognized me right away… Magnified Plaid, however, would not make my top 5.

I always have to consider them for quantity, consistency, and how much I listened to them. Mike is a phenominal songwriter, and they're so much fun to listen to. Best punk band ever in my opinion.

Hey, I'll take the Beach Boys over the Beatles any day of the week. Just my opinion and taste. Same goes for the punk.

Wow, this thread makes us all sound ancient. If I listed mine it would make it even worse. But I will admit I was stunned to see a Houston band of rather meager success make Haize's Top 5. Meanwhile bands of a similar era like Boston & VH are getting no love. These days I am lame by this thread's standards primarily listening to Christian content.

I've had so many different bands/artists that I've listened to in different seasons of my life. Tough to choose.

Stressing me out just thinking of it!

Won't go into five favorite songs. I divide all my music into two major categories, anything remotely related to alternative rock/metal, and anything along the lines of post rock.

Five favorite bands from alternative rock/metal:
Darkest Hour
Hot Rod Circuit
Light This City
Nodes of Ranvier
The Smiths
Unearth (finished tied with Darkest Hour)
Honorable Mention: At The Gates, Discount, Saves the Day, Underoath (first three albums era)

Five from post rock, post hardcore, and closely related genres:
El Ten Eleven
Godspeed! You Black Emperor
Mogwai
Signal Hill
Tristeza

Break em out SLY don't be shy.
And King's X is possibly the most under rated band of all time. I had it jamming at Youth Group last night and some of the kids loved it. They have had a ton of critical acclaim just not the commercial success. I list them with pride and encourage others to listen.
VH would make my Top 10. Van Hagar my Top 125. :D

We have some strong points (not many) but overall […]

We need to play more physical. Lost that with JSU […]

Charlie Kirk

But all the comments are that he wasn't a leftist.[…]

The poor guy didn’t make it very long. :)
