It annoys me beyond end that every time I have to update ios, I have to delete and clear a bunch of stuff before the phone has enough room for the update.I've seen this complaint a lot and I don't get it. Where should the data magically go?

However, if you want to avoid this you can plug into iTunes instead of doing the upgrade OTA.

I used to be able to just press it for a few seconds before it would wobble and I could X out of it. Doesn't do that anymoreDouble-click the task button and then just swipe up on each app you want closed. (hello webOS, again.)

It's not the apps on the screen its the ones that pop up when you double click the button, if that makes sense. If only we had an Apple tech on the board who could help us?! ALUmnus wrote:It's not really that complicated when you think about it, but let me explain it another way...
To get the update, it tells me I have to have 2.9gb of free space. So I delete a bunch of apps and transfer off a buch of photos. Do the update, and hey, after the update I still have the 3gb of space I cleared up. So why did it require all that room to be made? Again, I'm speaking out of complete ignorance of the process, but it's just annoying.
