Sly – No need to hate. You can be one of the cool kids. But only if you get an iPhone.

I'm pretty sure we both got the same amount of amusement from that video... But for different reasons.

Anyone had time to tinker with ios7 yet? I finished the update a couple hours ago, but haven't really gotten into it yet. It annoys me beyond end that every time I have to update ios, I have to delete and clear a bunch of stuff before the phone has enough room for the update.

I find it hilarious how Apple, specifically Tim Cook, are calling the fingerprint scanner ground breaking, as if it's something new that no one has ever done before. My Motorola Atrix 4G, which has now been turned into simply an MP3 player and GPS device, was released two years ago with a fingerprint scanner!

I've seen this complaint a lot and I don't get it. Where should the data magically go?

However, if you want to avoid this you can plug into iTunes instead of doing the upgrade OTA.

Honestly, I don't know any of the technical details, I just never had this problem with webOS updates on my palm.

I'm poor so I only have the 8gb phone. To get the update, it tells me I have to have 2.9gb of free space. So I delete a bunch of apps and transfer off a buch of photos. Do the update, and hey, after the update I still have the 3gb of space I cleared up. So why did it require all that room to be made? Again, I'm speaking out of complete ignorance of the process, but it's just annoying. And to have to plug into a computer and go through iTunes is so 2008.

Double-click the task button and then just swipe up on each app you want closed. (hello webOS, again.)

I tried double tapping the App and nothing. Tried double clicking the button and nothing. It's not the apps on the screen its the ones that pop up when you double click the button, if that makes sense. If only we had an Apple tech on the board who could help us?! It would Rock, like owning a Yacht... :D

when you double click the button, the active apps pop up on the screen, like you said. at this point, place your thumb (or whatever other finger or body part you're most comfortable with) on the app screen-shot, and swipe up, like you're flicking it off the screen, to dismiss it.

It's not really that complicated when you think about it, but let me explain it another way...

Let's say Sly is doing some more of his traveling. One week he is in some place tropical, the next somewhere in Alaska. In between he has a short layover in TX... Enough time to watch TX lose again and repack his suitcase.

SOME of his clothing will overlap, and can stay in the suitcase. In order to add those coogi designer sweaters, something has to be taken out of the suitcase first because it's jam packed.

When you update your OS, you have to have room to move. You can't delete the old OS until the new one is installed! It's kind of like that suitcase. Something has to come out before you can put something else in. That is, of course, unless you leave enough room in the first place!

I thought the whole point of the Apple experience was to be so married to them that you poured all of your disposable income into their coffers. Go back to the herd and let out a few Baaahs before anyone realizes that you can think for yourself.
