Sounds like BJU just decided they didn't want to deal with the work of Sunday morning service. What a joke.

umm... we dont have a sunday morning campus church service either anymore. not sure what the big deal is.

On a related note, Tennessee Temple University's home church, Highland Park Baptist Church, changed its name to the Church of the Highlands, sold all of its old buildings, and moved out of town!

which i went to maybe two times in my four years as a student. i do not care very much for either Charles Billingsly's vocal stylings or pastor jonathon's preaching, and I was not alone in this opinion as a student.

Everyone has preferences. I became a full me ever of TRBC while I was a student. And I was far from alone in that decision, too.

I'm just glad we are pushing students to local churches and not campus church.

For BJU it is a big deal. After about 70 or 80 yrs they are releasing students from attending the campus church. Little by little the school is giving up its control over students. First adding intercollegiate sports and now this.

And don't forget TRACS accreditation for BJU.

I attended church off campus except when I was a prayer leader, then I went to campus church at the request of my RAs and SLDs.
