This is why he is getting my early support He has the courage to pick his battles and then stick to his guns. Glad to see some of the other 'young guns' Cruz and Rubio are jumping in behind him. THIS is leadership, not what we have now.
I would love to see him get tired and then have another Senator pick it up.
Yes it is a snow day, not a lot on TV or DVR

It's the start of new Republucan vision. Not that they have any power but its encouraging at least.

I hope you are right on the first part. If any Republican takes the lead the rest will follow. It's just finding one to lead.

I like what I see in Rand. How about a Rand Paul - Benjamin Carson ticket. Or a Benjamin Carson - Rand Paul ticket. A libertarian and an independent.

why an independent? Independents stand for nothing, and that's the last thing we need at this point in history.
Let's go ahead and blow up this myth that there's all these Democrats who just want to vote Republican, but never do. They say it all the time... but it's bull and we all know it. The fact that we even listen to them, as they tell us how to rebuild the party... why would they want to help us?

I beg your pardon, I'm a registered independent and I know exactly what I stand for.

In Virginia there's no registration by party.
But I think you know what I meant by what I said anyway.

This is true. I had a liberal Democrat friend who swore up and down he would vote for McCain if he ever was the Republican nominee. Needless to say, he voted for Obama in 2008.
One day, when he was complaining about some Republican for changing their position on something, I asked him what happened to him voting for McCain.
He said, "I changed my mind."
I replied, "Oh, you can change your mind but politicians aren't able to? Don't kid me that you will ever vote for the Republican nominee for president. I know you're not going to. Just be honest with me."
