I'm fascinated by Papal selection. Surprised he is stepping down, but lets discuss the top replacements. No, JLFJR is not eligible

On the positive side, whoever is next won't have to follow John Paul II. The expectations have dropped tremendously. And they can always blame the sexual abuse on their predecessors' mistakes. Wait, popes are infallible. Never mind.
I'm just glad this should be done before we visit St. Peter's in April. We could do without the crowds waiting for the puff of smoke.

Well the man is going to turn 86 this year and you have to think that being the top leader of one of the largest religious groups in the world would take its toll on him at his age

Where do I send my resume?
I think that folks "in the know" are surprised he's still in office. They looked at him as a "transitional pope" that could fix some problems and lead while the guy they really want in the office got more experience.
