I was told by someone at work today (isn't that how most of these stories begin?) that you could consider tuition paid to a private school as childcare for tax purposes. They weren't sure, but thought it was just for kindergarten.

Does anyone know if this is true?

I've tried to see if there was some kind of tax break for private school, but have never found any. I do my own taxes so I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.

I remember when I worked where you work that they would pay for preschool as childcare but not K-12. I know that's not the same thing as taxes but maybe the reason is related to taxes.

Previous tax counsel from my accountant did not allow for a deduction for K12 or homeschool expenses. I have not heard anything that would change this, however, I don´t get paid for tax advice, I only pay for it.
