Is anyone else glad that it's season premiere week? Last night was the debut of How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men while tonight I've watched NCIS, The Unit, and I'm about to watch Law and Order SVU. Tomorrow night's got Criminal Minds and I think that's all. Unfortunately I have to miss CSI on Thursday because I'm working, and Friday is Numb3rs. Good tv is back.

I would be glad, except the cable guy can't come until this weekend. I need to find the premiere of HIMYM, and later this week, The Office and My Name is Earl.
Anyone know how to connect to the server on campus with the TV episodes? I have a Mac.

I have no clue with a Mac. I can tell you what happened on HIMYM. It was a pretty good episode.

I love Scrubs but that isn't coming back for a while. The Shield might be the best cop show ever but that doesn't come back until Jan. I am looking forward to CSI and I love my Sunday animation. Simpsons and Family Guy. Its tough now though because of Sunday night football on NBC. I didn't watch it on ESPN much but I love John Madden and Al Michaels. Criminal Minds tonight. Fell asleep on SVU but I will catch it on TIVO this weekend when I am "vacationing" at my house in the Burg

Monday's premiere of Studio 60 was pretty good too. I also enjoy Law and Order but they moved that to Friday nights where all Law and Order shows go to die (see Trial by Jury and Conviction). The Office is histerical btw.

Crap, what time was Studio 60? I wanted to watch it.

Studio 60 was horrible. Shallow plot, lousy acting, not worth my time.

I wanted to at least check it out. If it's between 8:30 and 9:30 there's no way I'm watching it.
Did anyone get to see The Class on CBS at 8? I wanted to check it out but I had some stuff at school.

For those who saw Studio 60 - did you see the clip from next week's show where they're standing in a circle praying (one of the 60's female players is Christian or something - one of the story lines concerned her appearance on the 700 Club) but she prays that a giant object will fall on her boss's (M. Perry) head? I think her character might be based a little bit on Victoria Jackson of SNL fame who is a Christian and I believe she was on the 700 Club post-SNL. I'm wondering how they will continue to portray this character. The writers showed their hand a little bit: Robertson and his ilk are bigots, then there were the comments about the luny boycotters and letter writers. This stuff doesn't bug me - I can appreciate good TV or movies even if I find some of the things portrayed or said offensive and yes that is possible. South Park comes to mind but I digress...

I would agree that her character is based loosly on Victoria Jackson. She has in fact been on 700 Club a few times post-SNL to promote her various ventures. I don't mind it when shows like this pick on groups, even if I am one of them as long as they don't use it as a platform/bully pulpit to attack a lone group. If they continue on attacking just Christians, it will get very annoying. South Park is good about that. I don't think there is a religion or ethnicity that they have not made fun of. They are an equal-opportunity offender. Aside from that, I just thought that Studio 60 didn't live up tot he hype. I would rather watch CSI-Miami, and I am not even that big of a fan of that one. Of course, now that it is football season, I have MNF to help me through.

I wanted to see Studio 60 too. I'm a fan of Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, The West Wing, Sports Night). The 700 Club thing shoudl be of no surprise to those who watched Sports Night, where they did a Jerry Falwell episode. An anti-right bias is to be expected from Sorkin. He's still a great writer and producer.

60 had to lay the ground work on the characters and introduce us to their lives. With that in mind it was about what I expected. It has an enless amount of material to write about and so many characters to develop. I think it will be fun to watch. No doubt about them taking shots at Pat Robertson and Christians in general. The "Vicotoria Jackson" character is a sympathetic one though. She is not a dolt or a boring preachy type or even extreme. I think she could end up being a good focal point for the show....Criminal Minds ended with a cliff hanger so it will be good to resolve it tonight. Can't wait to see all the new faces on Law and Order on Friday as well.

Ditto on the Office (especially if you work in a "Cubi-cell"). Also, the cancelled show Sons & Daughters from last year was hilarious...but alas, the T.V. gods giveth and taketh away.
