Thanks for the link. I followed the CNN link to an LDS public relations site. The funniest thing is that the PR guy does his best to say that it is improper to refer to claim that mormons aren't "Christians." One of his primary arguments is that "a group should be allowed primarily to define itself." He then goes on to suggest "that the term 'Mormon' is not an appropriate adjective for members of these [polygamist] communities." Which is it, huh?

Nah, Billy Graham has publicly stated several times that he believes people don't need to hear about Jesus to be saved (most prominently at the Chrystal Cathedral) so this is just another step for him. Read Iain Murray's Evangelicalism Divided to learn a bit more about that and the overall shift in Evangelicalism from 1950-2000.

I know this is away from the overall point, but there are some who ever once hear about Jesus in the world. Not many, but some. Can these people be held in contempt when we as Christians failed to do our job and tell them about Jesus?

Now, as to Graham's point, I have respect for him, but he's wrong. Doesn't stop me from voting for Romney though.

I was able to have a very in depth conversation to someone who was/is involved in this first hand. Very interesting to hear how all of this came about. Reminded me SO MUCH of our Tinky Winky deal several years ago. Lefty's can tie a knot to anything and everything...even if the rope isnt connected.

During a recent interview with CNN, Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham and president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), advised that a page that was removed from the ministry website last month following Graham’s endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, which classified Mormonism as a cult, is “not going to come back.”

“I was shocked that we even had that on there,” Franklin Graham said. “[W]e’re calling people names. If I want to win people to Christ, how can I call them names?”

“So, we just took it off,” he continued, insinuating that he made the final decision in the matter. “And it’s not going to come back, because I don’t want to be involved in calling a person a name.”

BGEA Media Relations Director Brent Reinhart confirmed to Christian News Network that Franklin Graham was the ultimate decider in the removal of the web page.
What the heck is happening to these people? This is why the local church is so important and should always take priority over these big ministries.
