Dear everyone,

I have been trying to figure out a band that is played on 90.9 for sometime now. I've emailed the station and they've tried but I think maybe I'm just not describing it well enough. I only know a few of the lyrics and I'm pretty sure these 2 songs are by the same folks. So here goes. The winner who comes up with the answer gets an autographed photo of me.

1. The main intrument carrying both of these songs is a piano.
2. The singer sounds very much like the singer from "the fray" and "switchfoot" (they sound similar to eachother) but it's not either of those bands.
3. One of the song's chorus is "you had it coming, you had it coming for a long time running" and later they say "yoooooouu are alone" a bunch
4. The other song of theirs at the beginning of the song is "This, This is a _____ song, this is a _____ song [insert a couple of lings here]. This, this is a sad song. this is a sad song [inster similar words as above here]
5. They played these songs a lot this summer yet never said who it was or the names of the songs.
6. The 2 songs in question may not even be by the same band but I'm pretty sure they are
7. I may be mishearing the lyrics but I don't think I am

I've googled, emailed and everything else I can think of. I've got 90.9 on speed dial in case I hear it again. i'm gonna call them at that moment. So anybody have any ideas? SJ, I'm looking in your general direction as someone who probably listens to this type of music.

I have no clue. I rarely ever listen to 90.9. I've searched everything I knew to search for the lyrics you gave but can't find anything.

Are you certain that it's not The Fray? They've been playing them on 90.9 recently. (Or so says The Mrs.)

what is 90.9.....is it the awesome college station that used to do bluegrass on sunday morning?

No. It's "90.9 The Light". Formerly known as "C91".

The station you're referring to is WNRN out of Charlottesville. They're 91.9 in Charlottesville and 89.9 in Lynchburg.

Speaking of which they still do the bluegrass on Sunday mornings. I listen to it on my way to church ever sunday. Also this thread has killed 2 birds with one stone as that station also played a song I couldn't figure out. It's actually a different Shapiro song. It's like the 4th one on their playlist at http://www.shapiropeople.com

I love WNRN! The only problem is that I lose it somewhere around the horse farm going west on 460.
