Shocked. Shocked I say. Next thing you know there will be charges of dead people voting in Chicago elections!
I loved her line about God wanting to get the money changers out. I hope she is sincere andnot some bitter church kid.
Of course....I can see a parallel between this and another similar ministry in the 80's...and a certain Chancellor taking over a taking a plunge down a water slide. I wonder if history will repeat itself... :D

You're right, no surprises here, although it is amazing that TBN has been so relatively unscathed for such a long time in spite of the obvious. There are some stunning parallels to PTL (such as Jan Crouch's RV for her dogs), although, judging from other stories I've read, some of the PTL extravagances pale in comparison to this bunch.

Not really. No one cares or takes 'ministries' like this seriously anymore. Plus, it's a'been there done that' thing.
I can't even say I'm saddened by it. If you got taken in by all of this after the history of this type of ministry, it's your own fault.

The Crouchs & Bakkers never really had any problem with extravagance dating back to before they went their separate ways. The stories I have heard from friends in Dallas made even this PTL-overdosed cynic incredulous.

One of my best friends did his Doctoral dissertation about the Evangelical influence in the 80's. We always have fun talking about those 'good old days' as we were both raised in that environment. Shoot in College I remember we would go over to a friends house after games sit in the hot tub and watch them just to laugh. Ok we were nerds but it's great memories.

Bakker's show that airs now would be some of the best entertainment on TV if not for the fact he's so pathetic. His message now is doomsday stuff, and he's selling buckets of dehydrated food and other junk to line his pockets. I know that nobody's forcing people to send him money -- you'd think there would be enough red flags with this huckster -- but I still find it sad that people get taken.

I've seen it a couple of times. I remember his old studio with nice seating top gear etc. now on wide shots it looks like an old warehouse with old folding chairs. Hey Doomsday Prepping is big business now a days. Ask Glen Beck!

Bakker needs to add Zombie bullets(miami cannibal) to his merchandise, he would make a killing.
