Since this is all everyone wants to talk about it I think we should too.

There is a rally in DC scheduled.

I hate all the politcal hay some are making of this. You expect it from Sharpton and his ilk, but Obama said if he had a son, he would look just like Trayvon. ??? That is using a tragedy to gain sympathy (and ultimately votes) from the mindless masses. Sickening.

As for the case, I think the killer should spend a very, very long time behind bars - like probably forever.

Why don't we talk about all the craziness going on in Chicago or Kansas City instead? This is a crime story, hardly should it be national news.

Pretty sure he was visiting his father whose girlfriend lived in the gated community. He walked to a nearby store for a snack. He was on his way home when it started raining so he put on his hoodie.

2. It does happen all over the country. Black man kills white man. Hispanic kills Black, etc... Difference is the dude killed an harmless and innocent kid and is roaming free. If a Black guy killed a harmless and innocent white/asian/hispanic kid walking home from the library and is free, from the using "self-defense" excuse it would be over the media.

Thank you for letting me know the facts regarding the case. In in that case, the guy should be arrested. I was only asking, so I don't apprechiate folks jumping to conclusions based on my comments about the media. They are the truth anyway.

I read 1 article and knew the neighborhood watch guy was Hispanic and the kid was visiting his dad.

He was a 17 year old kid...unless he had a weapon of some kind shooting him is completely unacceptable to me. Especially since he was told not to chase after him. I am sure the kid was probably running his mouth and its pretty factually proven the kid wasn't a saint, but shooting him?? Come on man...

The race thing is ridiculous. I do agree with that but ignore the media's angle on this story and just look at the facts that have been presented and it is pretty easy to see the man over reacted.

I know a lot of 17 yo who could give men a run for my money. If some kid starts trying to beat me. With his fists and I have a gun, I'd use it. Never bring a knife to a gun fight.
According to the story Martin was on top of the guy gaining him a beat down. Also, according to the eye witness the screams from the 911 call were coming from the guy getting beat up NOT Martin.

for the record, I've never said that the guy should have been shot. I have even said if the facts are what they claim to be, then yes he should be put in jail. But if the police seem to be agreeing it was self-defense, there's something to this story that isn't being told.
