Is this similar to LinkedIn? Tell me why I should join or something useful about it.

This thread is the first I've ever even heard about it. That puts it one notch below Google+.

Yeah, its free and I figured I'd get that annoying blast out of the way early on.

It is hoping to be similar to LinkedIn but on a Facebook platform and without premium fees. It is VERY early in the process but they already have added close to 10 million members in just a few months of existence.

As for whether it has any significant value, the jury is still out. But did I mention it was free?

I've already got 6-10 invitations. I'm gonna quit LinkedIn I think. I see no benefit to it, and the founders are huge Obama supporters. I know I probably support other businesses that do to, but no need to help out something I don't even like anyway.

If BranchOut gets big, I may join eventually if I haven't blocked the app for spam before then.

I've been on LinkedIn for a long time, but have never really used it, don't have many connections. But I was listening to a Recruiter at my company, and she said that LinkedIn is the #3 source of new hires, after in-house hires and employee referrels. It has it's uses, but it's all about networking and being active.
