Did anyone else go? Or do I still hold the title of Unofficial FF Concert goer?
The show was amazing! I like most of the concerts I go to, and for what I spend on tickets I better! Ha. The dude is 65 years old and played for 3 hours! No intermission. I'm not a die hard Elton fan but knew most of the songs and loved singing along with them. There was one dude in the front row who was a really good dancer and danced to every song.....all night. During Levon he was getting into it and another guy ( this one with a female date) joined him and the crowd went crazy. After the song Sir Elton got up and gave them both high 5's! Eventually he called a security guy over and the both got back stage passes. Unlike the girl who rushed the stage and was ushered off by very large men with handcuffs.
Benny and the Jett's
Your Song
Don't Let the Sun
We're the best. Although my favorite is I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues. He's playing in Richmond tonite and Mrs Purple and I almost went!

Next up : Van Halen in August

My roommate in college was the biggest Elton John fan in the world--until he came out of the closet in the early '80s and announced he was GAY.

Your room mate was gay?

JB. You should have gone. He is 65 and you never know how much longer he will be able to do this. My wife and I will probably go to Vegas next year and maybe we can see him out there.

haha well there's always Greensboro. Lots of important people visit there and it's only a 2 hour drive. Like when I went to see Taylor Swift (yes I admit it).

I don't think he is going to Greensboro. But that's where I'm going to see Van Halen!

Saw Van Hagar in Greensboro back int he day. Yeah, I'm that old.

I think the question we all want to know is whether Elton has ever distanced himself from Crocodile Rock. Did it make the set list?

The biggest kick I ever got was doing the Crockodile Rock! Mrs Purple and I were making crockodile clapping motions, the guy next to me wasn't very happy

Van Hagar = blasphemy

Went to the Elton John/Billy Joel show at Nats Park a few years ago. Other than that, I tend to mostly smaller shows. The exception to that is that I catch every Avett Brothers show I can.

Hater? My wife and I were holding hands and skipping stones!

Sammy is the man, but with Chickenfoot, not Van Halen. I really like the new album. I was totally prepared to be disappointed but was suprised.

Elton John was down here last week, but we couldn't make it. I really wanted to go. Over the next few months The wife and I are going to the following concerts:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Eddie Vedder
Chris Cornell
Bonnaroo Music Festival

Tom Petty is always great
Eddie Vedder plateaued with 10 with PearlJam
Don't know much from Chris Cornell
Bonnaroo should be a blast!

Have you listened to his ukulele album? Really good stuff.

I met him in 2000 after the deaths at Roskilde happened. He's got a house on Molokai (Hawaii) and he used it as his getaway place whenever things went a little sideways on him. Really cool guy.

I've always wanted to see Petty. I'm a big Pearl Jam fan, so I disagree about the Vedder statement. Cornell was the lead singer of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave so he'll have a lot of material to pull from as well as some covers. I went to Bonnaroo in 2008 and it was a great time. Can't wait to go back this June.

Im heading to Greensboro tonight to see The Boss. Springsteen is a lot Elton in the fact that even though he is old he still rocks for 3 hours at every concert.
