I have the XBox 360 simply because I got a sweet deal on it when it came out. The one clear disadvantage is that unlike the PS3 it is not a blue ray player. Other then that I don't see mich difference. Maybe earlier access to a game or 2 I like

FACT.
Plus, you don't have to pay to play online.

I've had both systems and must admit both have their pros and cons. XBOX 360 wins for the hardcore gamer since they still have the most games. The fact that the PS3 has a Blu Ray player and free online access is great for most casual gamers. The thing that won me over was MLB The Show on PS3. Once my 2nd 360 died on me a few years ago, I switched over and haven't once regretted it.

thanks to Santa, who curiously enough, seems to have access to my debit card- we now have a 360.

Other than Wii, Atari and Super Nintendo back in the day, I never had another game system.

Oh- and I don't really know how to use the 360 yet other than You Tube and ESPN apps.

The kids seem to like the Kinect feature.

Hope that complete lack of information is helpful. :|

I don't have or play either one, but my brother prefers the 360. He used to have the PS3, but then he got rid of it and got a 360.

Better controller? Isn't it the same controller as the original playstation? Whatever happened to that bluetooth crescent/boomerang controller they were supposed to have at the launch of the PS3? Now that controller was cool.

Yep, it's the same basic design with a few major improvements. To me it's much better than the 360 controller (which is the same as the XBOX controller that came out a couple years after the horrible original XBOX controller).

Alumunus that controller was scraped bc the test audience hated how it felt in thier hands. I prefer the PS3 myself but if anyone is torn I say wait a few months until the next round of next gens start to come into full swing. Nintendo already announced theirs at E3. Microsoft is expect to announce theirs in the next month or so and Sony should have theirs ready for E3 this year.

I played Kinect (some dancing game and the Wii Sports clone) with some friends until 5:00AM last night. Lots of fun. I really liked not having to use a controller. That could be enough to sway some to go with the 360. I doubt I'd use it more than I used my Wii, so it's not something that would make me make the switch.

You also have to be a Live Gold member to use it. Most 360 owners are, but having to pay to use the ESPN app is still something to consider. I like the 360 just because at one time it had the most online players. Not sure if that's still the case. I also have a Kinect and it's pretty fun, although can be fairly frustrating at times for younger shorter players. My daughter gets pretty mad at it when it starts tracking me instead of her.

we had the same problem with our 4 yr old.

now we start the game then re-orient the kinect to him so it tracks at a lower angle

seems to have solved the problem

that and the stupid dog running thru the room would screw it up

PS3 has a better OS. 360 has better controllers. If you can find a way to use X-Box controllers on a PS3...you've got a perfect system.

360 is the only option for online gaming which is the only thing I do now. Once you experience online gaming you'll never play the regular game again.

You can catch deals for $39 a year for XBox live and it's WELL worth it. Then get one of these http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/66544/t ... ng-headset and you'll be playing through the night and not have to worry about waking up the kids, wife or in my case a dog.
