VA announced today that they will require anyone who wants to vote in the upcoming primary to sign a pledge saying they will vote for the GOP nominee regardless of who it is. If someone refuses to sign the pledge they will be barred from voting. I understand you could sign the pledge and then just lie and vote for whoever but the fact that this is being allowed is both sickening and terrifying.

Thoughts?

Barring someone from voting is always a scary thing. On top of that Iowa is moving the vote counting to a secret location. This country is getting more secretive everyday.
Primaries in most states only allow party members to vote anyway. So that's more than 50% of people being barred to start. Also, primary elections are organized by the party itself, so any rules that they want to restrict themselves with or shoot themselves in the foot with is not scary, or the road to fascism or whatever other scary terms you want to use. But it is pretty stupid, and there's no way I would sign something like that. I may actually show up just to be turned away. More than likely I'll just forget though.
