LU's Endorsement

Who does everyone believe LU will endorse, not who they should endorse....

These quotes are telling: :D

“I like Rick Santorum, but everybody knows he’s not going to win the primary,”

“He’s a different Newt Gingrich than he was in the early 1990s,”

“It looked for a while like Rick Perry would be that individual, but as the debates progressed, that’s seemed less likely,”

Considering that Newt Gingrich cut a commercial saying how great Liberty is...

Besides you know LU cannot officially endorse anybody (but they can give Robert Hurt a game ball!)

Flamehunter is right. The school itself cant endorse anyone. Now Jerry Jr and everybody else can endorse whoever they want on their own time.

sorry....Jerry Falwell's endorsement. When I think of Falwell and or LU, I think of them as an entity. Sorry Mr. Chancellor

If RP can string together a year of not being quite so nutty he's got a shot...

...we always like the dark horse around here  Anyone remember JLFjr getting stones threw at him for the early endorsement of the dark horse Huck? He didnt stand a chance when we first got behind him...next thing you know he nearly pulled it off and it didnt seem so dumb (in fact that would have been the only fighting chance the Rep's had, b/c McCain could never have beat the machine).

I dont know where Chancellor stands on endorsing before the primaries at this point, I have the feeling it's a little different mentality now then it was a year or 2 ago.

That was four years ago, HMO! Things are different this time. I do not intend to endorse anyone but I did speak my mind in an e mail thread a few weeks ago and it ended up on CNN:

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/1 ... h-journey-

The stakes are too high this time. I don't think the country can survive four more years of Obama. I would hate to endorse a candidate only to have another candidate win the Republican nomination. Obama's supporters could then use statements like this against the Republican nominee: The nominee is so weak on the social issues that conservative "evangelical Christians like Jerry Falwell, Jr." supported candidate X over the nominee.

We need everyone to unite and rally behind the Republican who runs against Obama, even if we have to hold our noses when we pull the lever!

4 years ago or not you called it early and you called it right!

You need to be like Sly and myself, we file all of our "pat on the back" moments so we can whip them out at a moments notice!

I see now you were referring to my counting abilities

I wasnt talking as much about the Presidential primary as much as I was the last local/regional primary we had.

We're going to have a two-term president. It won't matter. I do think it is interesting...Democrats choosing their opponent.

Thanks! I like keeping up the energy level of the FF Board during the slow times. Was it my post, or the reality of the statement you didn't like? Have the republicans seriously been looking for a candidate all this time, and this list is what it came to? Obama has to be loving it....

And if the republicans crap out Newt this will pretty much be true...

Why does everyone keep complaining about the candidates? If you're a moderate, you got Romney and Huntsman. If you love the Bush's, you have Newt. If you live military intervention abroad, you have Santorum. And if you're a libertarian, you have Ron Paul.

So I really don't see why anybody has the right to sit back and complain. All the options are available. But we'd rather sit back and do nothing and whine about, instead of changing the hearts of minds of Americans.

Anybody can beat Obama. ANYBODY.

I am SO sick and tired of the "oh woe is me Obama will win". Bull. Of course he'll win... if you sit back and do nothing to prevent it from happening.

I'm sorry to be rash, I do welcome you to the board, but I am very passionate about my politics as everyone will tell you :D

I wish Trump's candidacy would have been real. I think I'm going to give Romney my vote. Although, I can't stand Ron Paul, I think he's the only one with enough mojo to win. Gingrich won't win because of his history. Bachman, Santorum, Perry and Huntsman are practically done at this point. Something tells me Ron Paul will win but again I'm voting for Perry.

On a side note, Turner Gill should announce his candidacy. Our recruiting would go through the roof!

You just said you'll vote for Romney and Perry in the same paragraph.

And Trump? What do you like about him?

Actually the Senior Bush endorsed Romney. HW and Mitts dad knew each other. Plus, Newt sorta screwed HW with the taxes thing. HW is a nice man but he does hold a grudge and DID run the CIA! I don't think you will hear from W till after the primaries.
Now, this whole Dump Biden for Hillary thing is interesting.......

Biden is unpopular but I don't see it happening.

And I was just comparing the politics of Newt and Bush but you're right Haize.

the candidates as a whole are just a great representation of why I couldn't keep the "R" on my voter registration. For the most part they represent a party that has completely lost its way and was spearheaded when W was president.

Whoops, thanks for pointing that out. I meant Romney.

As for Trump, he's just one BA business dude. He knows what it's like to be bankrupt and work your way back to the top. On a side note, he also knows how to go bankrupt again. IMO, he's the only one who doesn't put with :BS or isn't a conspiracy theorist.
