It looks like it will finally touch down on Verizon's network on December 8th if the latest rumors can be believed. I have been using a 1st Gen Moto Droid on its last gasps for about 6 months waiting for this phone.

Thoughts on phone?

Filthy phone....looks like it might get some bloatware though, so you might want to look and root it and remove it.

I'd get it though

I would be using my Motorola 9Q still if I hadn't run over it in my Wrangler. Crushed the display, but since I remembered the first 8 autodials, I could still use it. Finally changed to a HTC Snap that a family member gave me last year. What is it with us old folks keeping our old phones. One of my employees seems to get a new one every 6 or 7 months!

I still have my sweet Nextel. It makes phone calls. Because it's a cell phone.

Thank you. Sly, I hope we've been of some assistance.

This is actually a departure for me as I haven't had a phone without an actual keyboard in about 5 years. I use the slide-out keyboard on my Droid about 95% of the time.

I really dislike virtual keyboards, but that's just my preference. As for the phone, from everything I've read it's a really good one. And it'll have the next stupid-moniker from Android, which should make it MUCH more user-friendly (mostly by way of stealing functions from other mobile OS's). But, should be a good pickup, Sly.

I've been rocking my new phone for about 24 hours and my only negative has been battery life. The camera actually takes much better pics than I expected from a 5MP camera. ICS is smooth as silk and 4G LTE is flat out awesome.

Once the root is available DO IT...once MIUI is available on it...DO IT...battery life will increase 10X....promise

My bionic has been having data connection problems. I thought the new update was going to fix it, but it didn't. When I have some time I'm going to have to root it I guess and make it awesome. I had planned on waiting further into my contract but I'm getting bored.

The Galaxy Nexus is solid.

I've been loving it. The only drawback for me is losing the slide-out keyboard. I really miss that for handling email on the run. The much maligned 5MP camera must have some great optics because it takes great pics.

Do they have 4G LTE in Lynchburg yet? If so, using 3G is pointless. It is that much better. Seriously.

Give it time and install swiftkey. It'll take about 2 weeks but you'll never look back. Also learn to use Vlingo now so it's second nature. Lastly, keep an eye on XDA and once the root is available do it. I really really wish this thing was on Sprint. I'd get it in a heartbeat
