And let's see how quickly the media will try to overthrow Beiheim. Calling it now.

But at least espn has turned into the modern Geroldo Rivera.

Difference here is that this wasn't covered up by Boeheim or Syracuse. No one ever came to Boeheim telling him what happened. When Syracuse was informed of it, they notified police right away. I'd like to know why this is being investigated again, it had already been investigated and there was nothing to prove it. Word is that on one was corroborating the first me around, did someone change their tune?

No, its called ESPN needed something to talk about and this was the best they came up with.

Needed something to talk about? The mothership has plenty going on right now, I seriously doubt they had anything to do with the allegations or the timing of them. The sportcenter I saw , they couldnt cut to the Tebow story fast enough!

Well, ESPN was pretty sure that the Broncos would be crushed. And now that they haven't, they've got something to talk about. that and the one black guy on firsttake now has to go to church.

disclaimer: I don't watch it, I only see it on at work.

Secondly, does anybody want to tell Mel Kiper to just shut up already? I think this was the same guy that said JaMarcus Russell would be the second coming of Johnny Unitas...

There is no convincing you that ESPN did not just "make" this a story. So I will not try.

We have no witnesses to this so its really word against word at this point.

That's the case in nearly every sexual assault of a child. That's why predators continue to walk amongst us all over the place.

I hear this all the time though. We act like everyone is a sexual predator, and all the time they're everywhere looking to snatch up all our children.

It's just not the case. Of course it happens but these are the same people who probably think the TSA keeps them safe on airplanes.

Denying that it is the word of one person versus another is not subject to discussion. Whether or not there is truth to the claims is perfectly open.

The fact that a child's testimony is the only thing standing between a predator and avoiding prosecution is why the crime is so rampant. It is extremely tough to prove unless there is serious material evidence.

Predators know this and count on it to continue in their ways.

I acknowledge that innocent men & women are often wrongly accused.

ESPN.com wrote:SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University fired associate head basketball coach Bernie Fine on Sunday in the wake of an investigation of child molestation allegations against him.

"At the direction of Chancellor Cantor, Bernie Fine's employment with Syracuse University has been terminated, effective immediately," Kevin Quinn, the school's senior vice president for public affairs, said in a statement.

The 65-year-old Fine was in his 36th season at his alma mater. He had the longest active streak of consecutive seasons at one school among assistant coaches in Division I.

Fine's firing comes in the wake of new revelations Sunday, including a third accuser. Syracuse had placed Fine on paid administrative leave when accusations first surfaced.

Did anyone see the article on ESPN.com that had quotes from a recorded conversation with Fine's wife? There were some pretty alarming facts in that report.

They have portions of the conversation online from the OTL story. What a warped household. This proved to be far from a witch hunt and even Boeheim and the university is admitting as much now.

Boeheim is next. You heard it here first.

Possibly, but I don't think that would be fair to him. According to the reports I've read, he was never made aware of any of the allegations. It's not the same as the Paterno situation where he knew about it.

They fired Paterno. And Boheim is a little bit more of a prickly personality so he wouldn't get the sympathy quotient that JoPa did.

What Boeheim has against him is his immediate reaction/comments when this story first broke a week or two ago. IMO, he could get fired for those comments alone.

How about espn having a tape of that recorded conversation since 2002? They hammered Penn St. people for not coming forward with information. I realize the circumstances are a bit different, but still.

There are a LOT of Syracuse people working for espn.

And Boeheim getting fired for what he said is just stupid.

ESPN had that tape since 2002? I thought it was the accuser who had the tape since then?

he sent it to ESPN but they claimed no one would corroborate the story so they sat on it. For 8 years.

yeah, read that last nite. Will find the quote for ya.

Oh yeah, Fine's wife was also "having relations" with the kid he molested. Unbelieveable.
