Where are some good places to buy unlocked phones online other than Amazon? I've had issues with my prepaid AT&T phone and I am looking to do ditch it, but AT&T doesn't have many options that aren't crap on their gophone website.

eBay has a lot of unlocked phones. Just make sure you're dealing with a reputable seller.

Yeah I tried looking there too. Almost all of the ones with a buy now option (well the ones worth buying) cost too much and then the ones on auction I keep getting outbid at the last second, so I gave up on ebay, got tired of all the frustration with it.

I've also looked at Craigslist. Availability is kinda small for Lynchburg, but there are a lot more options from the Richmond craigslist. Almost bought a phone on there, but it was a t-mobile one and I would have had to unlock it, and my research found that it isn't easy unless I pay some sketchy website to give me an unlock code...

Actually, AT&T just added this new phone to their gophone offering, AT&T Avail. Looks pretty solid for the price considering it's prepaid, and it's better than the LG Thrive - which is what I have and have had to get it replaced twice in less than three months. Nothing amazing but I don't need amazing, I don't use my cell phone like a practical computer replacement like some people do. Of course, if I can get a nice phone on the cheap like on Craigslist, I would certainly do that. AT&T does have one of the more higher end Android phones in the Samsung Captivate, but there is no way in the world I will pay $450 for a phone.
