My wife & I don't have a great deal of time for television. But when we do, we don't want to be wasting our time on lame content. What are your thoughts on the new programs out this fall and some of the older ones who are going through significant overhauls?

Right now we are into Suits and the old NBC Thursday night standbys. Mrs. Sly is really digging the first two episodes of Revenge that has an old Dallas/Dynasty feel to it.

If you can tear yourself away from the Office, I like Person of Interest, I think on CBS. Interesting storyline and pretty good action. May not get ratings due to competition but I like it.
Also hoping Last Man Standing (Tim Allen's new one) turns out good. Premiere is on the 11th I think.

New Girl on Fox is actually pretty funny.

How I Met Your Mother is still my favorite show on tv.

Suits was really good over the summer.

I saw the first ep of person of interest. It was decent for what networks are doing these days. I'm very excited for the return of The Walking Dead. I may even bump up my survival thread for the premier of that.

I thought the 2nd and 3rd episodes of the year were great. The first one was bleh but the third made up for that.

I remember the 1st episode of Outsourced was great. Not quite sure what happened after that... it went downhill fast.

Other than sports, The Office and the Apprentice is probably the only thing I watch on TV I don't really have that much time for it anymore lol.

I agree completely...the 1st episode was terrible in my opinion, but the 2nd picked things up and last week's episode had me laughing non stop...This week's episode looks really promising...

The office is horrible this year. I don't have any interest in it anymore but my wife loves it still. I am a big Parks and Rec fan. My wife seems to like that show that comes on after How I Met Your Mother, but I have gotten too wrapped up in other things to pay much attention to it but I guess its funny, who knows....

I can't watch more then sitcoms really but I will try to stick with House and The Walking Dead but it won't be live thats for sure. I cancelled cable not so long ago to save money so unless its a network show I like to catch live then I have to make it a point to find it online somewhere and most of the time forget it.

Forgot about The Walking Dead. Great show, although the last episode got a little confusing, the French? Really? And I kept flaying back to the Andromeda Strain

Agree about the office. The local FOX station reairs all the classic old ones at night. Back when the show was so freaking awesome.

Now it's just dumb. But leave it to NBC to screw up a good show.

I still like it, but it's not the same without Michael Scott. Steve Carell leaving wasn't NBC's fault, though.

I like the main characters played by Will Arnett and Christina Applegate, but Maya Rudolph's character is terrible. I heard they re-wrote the show to make her more prominent after Bridesmaids did so well. I think that was a big mistake. I'll probably watch a couple more episodes to give it a fair shot.

My girlfriend really likes Dexter. I make fun of her all the time for liking shows where a guy runs around killing people

Hopefully she won't kill me... ? lol

No way. I haven't enjoyed The Office this much in a few seasons. Andy did fantastic in the 2nd episode. He was very Michael Scott-like. C'mon....."C-span. Cocker spaniel"... you know that was hilarious.

On another note, Archer continues to be a really funny show.

Honestly I was expecting more from Spader. I agree that Episode 2 was better. I am reserving judgement until we get a few more episodes without Michael Scott. I thought the closing episodes last season without him were stronger.

I don't even watch Dexter since I don't have cable but seeing the promos gives me all I need to know about Catholic imagery. You can see how that would be easy to intertwine into existing plotlines.

Our must-see shows has been narrowed down to just one: Modern Family. Of course, we dropped our cable, so that may have something to do with it. We also enjoy the Canadian show, Rookie Blue.

And though it's not the greatest writing ever, Hawaii Five-O is fun to watch.

I'm interested to see how Once Upon a Time does, but I have a feeling it won't be very good.

my wife watched that show with zooey or whatever her name was. that show was terrible. then the raising something show came on after and it was equally horrible. so sitcoms are pretty much dead huh?

thats my detailed review of both.

so you're the reason. You need to get away from CBS. That's like my mother-in-law's DVR schedule.

Anybody been watching the Walking Dead this season? It's been reaaally good. The scene in the last episode with Otis getting eaten was probably a bit much. It made me a little queezy. Also, the Talking Dead at midnight the night of the show is pretty good too if you want to nerd out a little bit on the show.
