Summer Concerts

So for those old enough to remember, this is the time of year when bands go on tour!! As the self proclaimed unofficial concert groupie of the board I just wanted to see what concerts everyone is going to this summer.
For our clan it has been lean. While we are planning on the Journey/Nite Ranger concert in August and MAYBE Def Leppard, we DID hit a HUGE one last week.
U2. Soldier Field! Awesome. They played "Out Of Control" . Quote from person next too me who missed the intro "Oh cool, a song from a new album they must be working on!" They also played "One Tree Hill" at the end. Bono's great quote, since they haven't played it in 20+ years "Here's the deal. We screw up really badly YOU don't put it on the internet". They didnt' and it is!
We are going to NYC on our way to Niagra Falls and will be hitting a Broadway Show. War Horses looks intense, but I figure if we see Spiderman (U2) or Rock of Ages (Dee Schnider) we can STILL get a concert fix!

I remember the days before I had kids when summer concerts were remotely possible. That seems like an eternity ago.

It seems everywhere I turn I have friends who have been to the U2 show somewhere. You people make me sick.

I agreee about the "preachy" I had a "True Believer" standing next to me and she was SOOO happy that the Burmese lady was released from prison. She said "Isn't that awesome that U2 and their fans have that kind of influence". I said "Yes. ALong with a US Aircraft carrier parked off their island!" Now that I think about it ISLAND records were a lable that U2 started with so maybe she WAS on to something......

Saw her live recording Austin City Limits a few years back. I wasn't a fan before the show even with my bluegrass roots. But even on the in-house audio she sounded great.
