Have any of you guys taken the degree programs for either of these Master's degrees. I'm thinking about doing the MAML with LUOnline. Anyone want to give me a compelling reason to do the MBA rather than the MAML?

What's MAML? I've done the MBA.

I think you answered your own question. Think of yourself as a potential employer:
Employee #1 has an MBA
Employee #2 has an MAML. Since you dont know what that is you look at where they got it from. It says ONLINE. Who would you feel more comfortable hiring.
It is perception, not reality. Even IF the MBA was online, EVERYONE has heard of an MBA so it automatically has credibility. Just my .02

Both MBA and MAML (as well as all LU's degrees) issue diplomas and transcripts from "Liberty University" with no distinction between what is earned online or residentially. Unless the applicant discloses that it was earned online, the employer won't know. (I agree, though, that the MBA may be the best bet simply because it's more recognizable.)

I also had to look up the meaning of MAML. While I'm sure it's a worthwhile degree, I'd say go with the MBA. Everyone knows what that is and it still carries some clout.

I think what Rooster is asking is if he can AVOID the accounting classes required by the MBA would an MAML have value for his investment. Is that correct, Rooster?
For the record, the accounting classes kept me from majoring or minoring in business. Economics I can live with in a class. But accounting is a software or outsourcing issue IMHO.
Leadership schools and programs are a hot commodity right now. Everyone from the Ivy League to the for-profits are creating opportunities across the nation.

Next you are going to tell us that you would have been a Doctor except those darn science classes kept you from it!!
Yeah, my wife and I were looking at a place on Smith Mountain Lake. We were all set to buy it until we found out how much it cost LOL

Yeah, I did the Leadership one. Didn't feel like messing around with finance. I'm more interested in communication/employer-employee relationships (the work kind, not the immoral kind) anyway.
I see that as an area that gets overlooked by most businesses. Everyone wants to take care of the numbers (production), but they ignore or lessen the importance of maintaining their resources (production capability).

It's not so much about the accounting classes (even though they are a bit intimidating) it's more about the cost and time involved. It seems that the MAML gets many of the same core classes and takes 11 less credit hours and a ton less money to complete. I just thought if it covered enough to take some of my weak areas up an notch, it would be enough without being too much. If you know what I mean.
